The season is over, yet you're still whining about Henne.

If only they'd played Stanzi...

After all, Garrard went on to have such a great career after his stint with the Jaguars. He was clearly not injured. Lmfao.
I skip right over when i see his posts, waste of time.

...and he was just as bad In Chicago as DC there, so theres a precedent.

Gus hired a very weak assistant staff with few exceptions.
Dave and Gus never returned your calls? I'm shocked.

Quote:Hey, maybe you're onto something here?

When you draft a quarterback, he will need to be developed. The facts are crystal-clear Gabbert never was appropriately groomed to be the starter.

The Jaguars drafted Gabbert with a decent plan to develop him. He was to sit for several seasons while David Garrard remained the veteran starting QB.

Everything was fine. Gabbert was actually so close to David that Blaine was driving a Garrard family vehicle.

Then the idiots Wayne Weaver, "Alibi" Jack Del Rio, and GM Gene Smith simultaneously seemed to filled with an evil spirit that manifested itself coincidentally at the same time they somehow came into possession of and reviewed Garrard's private medical information which stated he needed to have a disc in his back surgically repaired.

He was brought in after attending a corporate ticket drive function and told he was being cut. Apparently the Jaguars played a parlor trick on Garrard and had him sign an injury waiver stating he was healthy. David's agent claimed the team never informed David of the extent of his back condition. Garrard was actually announced at the ticket drive as the Jaguars' starting quarterback.

While the entire NFL world cried shame, the Gator-infested media glorified the disgusting act as something like 'a great move by the Jaguars to create additional cap space'.

Meanwhile, on defense free agency bust Aaron Kampmann had blown out his second knee, but was never placed on the IR. He patrolled the sideline each game of Gabbert's rookie season with unfettered access to his defensive team mates while collecting a full paycheck. Garrard visited his doctor and found out he needed disc surgery.

"At $500,000 per game, they knew he would be down 4-6 weeks. They didn't want to pay that bill," Garrard's agent, Al Irby, wrote in an e-mail to The Florida Times-Union. "Now you know the difference between a first-class organization like Indy, and a sorry organization like the Jags. Indy gave their QB a contract even though he couldn't play all season. ... David was told his back was fine. So he took them for their word.

That left Gabbert as an orphan. Not only was he thrown to the wolves, he was left to figure out what kind of franchise would do such a thing to their veteran signal-caller, and, if it happened to a great QB like Garrard, it could happen to him.

We don't develop pro quarterbacks in Jacksonville, we kill them.

If I am Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, or any of the other pro prospects at QB I might want to examine the John Elway story, particularly the part where he refused to report to the team that originally drafted him.

Your posts remind me of the old Charter By The Sea commercials.

Quote:The offense scored roughly 240 points and the defense gave up 450.

Some changes in coaching absolutely should be made.

IMO, both Coordinators are/ were extremely weak hires.

Replacing Fisch with Chudzinski and replacing Babich (who oddly never seems to get any blame around here) would be a good start. But I'd bet neither happen. Bradley seems like the kind that will be overly loyal to his assistants.
Ya that's what happens when you have no QB, no pass rush, no blocking, and a very young secondary.  Why don't we fill some talent voids first then worry about knee-jerk-fire-everyone typical reactions.

You're so obvious.

You chastise Del Rio for the yearly turnover of the coaching staff.

Now you want yearly turnover of the coaching staff.

You need a new act, you're becoming redundant. And besides, who would pay any attention to your recommendations?

Don't want yearly turnover, but also don't want to be stuck with poor assistants under the guise of "continuity".

Some of the criticism for Del Rio's turnover, was simply picking poor assistants in the first place, thus necessitating turnover down the line.

You are stupid if you just think blind continuity is the answer. Under that concept, crap coaches like Richie Kotite would simply get better with time. Don't happen.

If you had some knowledge, you'd know that Babich has failed at DC previously with the Chicago Bears.....theres a precedent here.....and they weren't devoid of talent. We could do a LOT better than Babich at DC.

If you had some knowledge, you'd know that this is Gus Bradley's defense, Babich is his pawn.

Facts are stubborn things. Not only did David heal from his back surgery, he was signed by the Miami Dolphins and earned the starting quarterback job there. He was then sidelined by a knee injury and took himself out of the game.

Garrard was certainly capable of remaining Gabbert's mentor. Er...the same thing he is doing up in New York.

My psychoanalysis of you is that you were hurt at a young age by Rich Kotite and the Eagles. You take your aggression out on a random football team in Florida and whomever they employ in positions of power. Let this anger go and you will be a happier football fan and ultimately, a happier person.

After one season, with this roster, nothing is "blind continuity'. To turn over the coaching roster would disrupt what they are working toward. That's stupidity.

You can agree or disagree with where they are going, but anyone whining about coaches after one season with this roster (particularly the offense, which other than the Jets may be the weakest in the NFL) is doing so to fulfill an agenda rather than making sense.

sigh, Kotite used as example because it gets your attention and makes the point. If you wish replace Kotite with any one of Coslet, Phillips, Handley, Pettibon, whoever.

Continuity alone doesn't make success. Success however, breeds continuity.

Babich has precedence of failure as a DC. It was a weak choice from the get go for DC. Same with Fisch. Fisch hasn't been able to stick with a job for more than a year or two even at the college ranks.

Both continued their norms here this season.

You are advocating keeping these people.

I'd call that blind continuity.

Wisdom.

When you've seen enough bad situations, you start to identify when bad moves are made, such as Fisch/ Babich.
