The more that I think about it, I think the Jags pick will be Anthony Barr or Clowney

I just think they are clearly BAP after Bridgewater, and either one clearly fills a need.

They could get similar QB value later in the draft instead of overdrafting someone like Carr or Bortles at 3.

I would love it if we took Clowney.

My questions to you are.... Do you think Barr can be an every down DE? He plays OLB at UCLA. Do you pick a passing down DE that high?

would he fit the LEO?

If Barr is projected as a perennial All-pro, which some football people do....then I'd say a perennial all pro at a premium position is worth a selection at 3.

He not only is very talented, gifted, but also has a passion for the game, and is a leader thats missing on the D.

Bruce Davis was a very good pass rusher in college at UCLA and didn't amount to squat in the NFL.

Not so sure he can be "hand in the ground" DE or even LEO based on strength alone. But we shall see.

If Teddy isn't there I definitely want them to draft either Barr or Clowney. Between the two, I think Barr would be a better fit for our defense.

My only reservations about Clown is his motivation  / love for the game. Barr has none of those questions.

I agree, but part of me thinks he may have received some bad advice from people telling him to take it easy this year and not risk getting hurt. Maybe all that talk ESPN did all season about should he or should he not sit out went to his head. Who knows.

Barr is more versatile, Clowney is harder to block one on one and has a higher ceiling. It's a tough decision.

Unless someone else besides Bridgewater can really impress I feel pretty sure that we'll go defense (DE) round 1. Hell, Caldwell might not even be sold on Teddy. Imagine if we're at 3, Teddy falls to us and we pass on him. lol.

I wouldn't count out Mack also.  Barr and Mack are about even to me.

Mad Dog I'm thinking the same thing. While Clowney fits pretty well in any scheme, Anthony Barr fits the LEO pass rusher role to a T. He's incredibly fast, explosive, and long. This is just a hunch but he also seems instinctive enough in his limited LB experience to be a SLB on non-passing downs similar to Bruce Irvin in Seattle

After watching the last couple games of each of the 'non-Teddy' QBs, I am in 100% agreement. If Teddy is not there, then I would be an advocate for the best pass rusher.

You don't wait till next year, you draft one of these top pass rushers and take a QB in the 2nd or trade back into the first where you can get good value.

Nobody besides Teddy is worth taking in the top 10. Sorry to burst your bubble.

This. You don't just draft a QB to draft one.

I disagree strongly. Carr and Bortles are prototypical top 10 QB draft prospects. They have no bigger flaws than Stafford, Locker, Gabbert, Rivers, Bradford, etc.

Sometimes they hit, sometimes they don't. Just like the pass rushers.

You don't get good values on QBs. Have fun in QB purgatory.
