I do as well. Louisville has sizzled out the last few weeks and Watson has been on a tear since the loss to Pitt.


It's absolutely criminal that Dalvin Cook isn't a finalist, homer or not.


Jabrill Peppers being a finalist is a joke as well.

Peppers has no business being there. Surprised to see Foreman or Cook left off. Would have liked to see what Westbrook could have done with a full season, he is an amazing player. Jackson wins it by a huge margin.

Baker Mayfield may be a very good QB, but I never thought he was close to Heisman Trophy material.

I would say play in conference that plays defense but Mayfield and Westbrook are both going to NYC.

Exactly. Westbrook started the season very poorly and only had like 150 yards receiving in the first 3 games combined. Baker Mayfield had very un-Heismanlike performances against Ohio State and very recently against West Virginia. How are they nominated, yet Foreman is left out when he didn't have a bad game all year, in the same conference? Foreman faced the #11 rushing defense in Kansas State and racked up 124 yards rushing and averaged 5.2 yards per carry and when facing Oklahoma and the #52 rushing defense he shredded them for 159 yards rushing and 6.4 yards per carry. Leaving him out and having Westbrook and Mayfield as finalist, makes no sense.

Well unfortunately, the award is given to the best player on the best team now, rather than the actual most outstanding player in college football. Texas being 5-7 did Foreman no favors.

You missed his point entirely.  Too often now really good players on teams that are not having good seasons are by passed for players that had just good seasons on really good teams that have a lot of media coverage.

 

It's not really what the award was originally intended for.  The award should go to the best player, period.

That is part of it, but another problem is QB bias. It seems like every year most Heisman candidates are QBs.

Deshaun Watson absolutely does belong on the list of Heisman Trophy finalists. He may be overrated as a prospect in next year's draft, but this award is for the best college football player.

Cook not even getting an invite is wrong. He was FSU this year. That o-line isn't good at all. He hid a lot of their deficiencies.
