Draft order

#21

Quote:Bills, Titans, at Colts

I think the Jaguars might lose to the Bills with Maurice Jones-Drew being injured, the Bills winning 2 of the last 3 matchups, and with a lot of key Jaguar players whom did not practice under injuries it could be a close loss.  The titans are guaranteed either if the injuries continue into the next week.

I do think that the Jaguars will win against the Colts, since they will secure the AFC South and be resting Luck along with other key starters.  The only way they could lose that game is if the Colts are fighting for a bye week.  If that happens the team will finish with only 4 wins.

There is absolutely no reason in the world to think the Colts will rest their starters. Chuck Pagano is not Jim Caldwell. The Colts are not locked into a seed and, depending on what the Bengals do, may be playing for the #3 seed in Week 17.

You worry too much about injuries. Take it one week at a time. Until Gus Bradley says MJD and Cecil Shorts are out, expect them to play.

Didnt feel like starting a new thread about it and this is close to a general draft thread.

Teddy Bridgewater is leaning towards going back to Louisville next year and not declaring for the 2014 draft. This really screws with the rapidly declining QB depth in this years draft and may leave teams who need a guy high and dry if they dont have an early pick.

It also puts the Texans who want QB set above all else in a strange position, as the best QB in the 2014 draft would be Derek Carr now.

I don't want to worry about that because we probably can't pick Teddy Bridgewater anyway without trading up. Right now our main concern is staying in the top five.

If the Texans do pick Derek Carr, they will probably be the first team to draft two brothers #1 overall.

We could actually still get Bridgewater.. We'll most likely be picking in the top 5, so here's how we can do it..

Texans are gonna pick Clowney, next some team is gonna take whats his face from that one school, then after that somebody is going to trade down and stock pile picks and that team they trade with is gonna pick up some other kid, then someone else get's drafted and then the Jags take Teddy.. Can't miss..

The Texans will definitely pick a quarterback. There is no reason not to believe that.

Of course, that does not mean the Texans will pick Teddy Bridgewater. But the reason for that could be Teddy decides to stay in school.

Some people have been saying in the college forum we would be third after the Texans and Rams while others put us at #5 or #6. The reason for this difference is how people calculate the SOS: that depends on whether you stop at the current week or include all 16 opponents. The correct way is to include all 16 opponents because we are not talking about "if the draft was today." When you do it that way, are we third, fifth, sixth, or something else?

Quote:The Rams must be rooting for every Redskins opponent this year except the 49ers because of that trade.

So the highest pick number we can hope for is #4 behind the Texans, Falcons or Rams, and Vikings? Depending on the SOS for all of the 4-9 teams, it could be later than that.

At this point, they are even rooting for the 49ers.  The 49ers winning doesnt affect them at all this year.

How can you say they will definitely pick a quarterback?  You dont think they could look at this years qb class and think they arent up to par and go a different way?

No way. The Rams stayed in the NFC West because of their rivalry with the 49ers.

The Redskins don't want to root for the 49ers either because that can affect their Round 2 pick number.

Who cares?  At this point in the year, the Rams arent going to the playoffs and they want their draft position to be better.

Apparently you think even Teddy Bridgewater is not a great NFL-ready quarterback. With the first overall pick, nothing can stop them. And with their next opponent being the Broncos, I don't see a way they can finish with four wins. Also, in the past teams have reached for players to make sure they don't miss out on them.

That would be like the Browns rooting for the Steelers. Teams just don't do it, whether it makes sense or not.

Nobody knows whether Teddy Bridgewater will be any good.  Caldwell could think he's the next Peyton Manning while the Texans GM may think he's the next Jamarcus Russell.  My point is, nothing is definite with the draft....especially when you have the other talent available.

It makes you wonder why every year two players are named as the most likely #1 picks. Why does it seem like almost everyone agrees Teddy Bridgewater will be the first overall pick while he decides whether or not to stay in school?

It will be interesting to see what the Texans do if Bridgewater does not declare.

Blaine Gabbert was thought to be a possible top pick when he came out.  He slipped, and should have slipped much more.

So did other quarterbacks drafted in 2011. But eventually everyone expected the Panthers to pick Cam Newton, which they did.

I don't see that happening next year because only one quarterback is widely expected to be a top five pick. Johnny Manziel is all over the place in mock drafts.

Thats changing somewhat. Blake Bortles has creeped his way in to the top 10 on a few boards. One team with a top 10 pick reportedly has him as their #1 QB in the draft right now.

So Blake Bortles might be our next quarterback because we will have a top 10 pick.

Which team are you referring to?

LOL, She doesn't get your sense of humor Winger.....

oh on SOS this will give you something to chew on jw........http://stevielovesthejaguars.com/draftorder/

You can plug in different scenarios to see how it affects the Jags draft position.

Dude spent a lot of time building the spreadsheet.

currently he has us at #3

I tried to change the numbers for the end of the season, but it did not recalcuate because Stevie designed it to only go through the next week.

He either forgot or boycotted the word Redskins. Every other team's full name is on the list.
