Quote:The OWNER doesn't have a specific top player, he stays out of football decisions, as he should.  The owner on down want to WIN (since you like yelling in caps) and don't buy into this crap.  This is a multi BILLION dollar industry focused on WINNING.

Serious question for you.  What do you do for a living and do you have a family to support?

LOLOL, yes, JIM IRSAY has proven to be a low -key; stay out of the team affair kind of owner, huh?... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks for the belly laugh!!!

and Yes Jim Irsay does want to win....which he knew he'd be doing for YEARS more with Andrew Luck, as it has already started to play out.

Quote:And you like to accuse others of being naive because you think it bolsters your argument. Again, bending other people's words to conform with your narrative. Of course it's Caldwell's job to win, just like it's Bradley's and every player on the team who has dedicated their life to be a professional football player. Purposely losing is not in their makeup, and I would venture to guess they would take deep umbrage towards any suggestion they should. The concept of tanking only appeals to those who have nothing invested or fantasy league players. If you're so convinced that losing is the right thing, please wear your Jags swag to the game tomorrow night and loudly cheer against them while surrounded by real fans.

The reaction from the players would be similar to their reaction when the media asked about them being huge underdogs at Denver.

Of course the owner is involved in team affairs, they own the team.

Like who?

Am I supposed to be taking everyones name and telephone number down of every casual conversation I have out on my daily life now??? Laughing

I've heard it (Colts tanking theory) from a lot of people - from the people at the sportsbar who watch the games, to football convo's I strike up in the supermarket, or at lunch in stores, in some of my fantasy football leagues, at sporting events, all over.

I'll try to start logging all these peoples info though if that will make you happy.

Quote:yeah, and tow the line for that "alleged" incident.... :whistling:

and yes, even though Polian was fired, he would need to keep everything on the down-low as it would be assumed he was given "hush money".

Also, since Polian hasn't seemingly even tried to get another GM gig, I'm guessing he was quite close to "retirement" anyway.

Oh geezus...

Quote:Considering his close relationship with the Polians, I am sure he knows more about the 2011 Colts than you will ever hope to know.
And with the poor play by luck without harrison that tank job looks more like a mistake now luck is no better then matt ryan or flaco. If they had kept peyton they would be a much better team.

He keeps arguing with me over my post. I said caldwells job is to win games, not to lose them. Even if he wanted best QB. He keeps saying I'm making a narrative, personally I believe it's in best interest to have 1st pick, however, I don't think Caldwell is tanking. He keeps thinking I'm saying Caldwell is tanking, he's not

I was asked for people who's saying this. You don't know what they know anymore than I do. All that is evident is that they have a shared opinion.

It will be funny when (IF) this leaks out later down the road as time goes on, and people like you in such stark passionate denial that it happened will be like uh, duhhhh,......drool....

No kidding. No NFL team has tanked or will tank. My beef is with the belief that a team should tank (cheat). You seem to think it's okay to cheat.

Wow, how shortsighted. Typical, though.

IN 2 years or so Peyton will be retired. The Colts will likely still be winning with Andrew Luck for a decade longer or more.

RIght. Nothing like casual grocery store conversation like "Do you think Jim Irsay gave the Polians a bonus when he fired them because the team tanked for the first pick?".

Or when it doesn't?  You'll just continue with your clueless non-sense.

Keep flippin pancakes, you're excellent at it.

Andrew Luck was one the most overhyped prospects in the history of the NFL.
