Bruce Swindell (JID), the guy who helped make this board a reality way back when, officially retires from the Jaguars on December 1st.  JID was instrumental in bringing us this board in its many iterations.  He's stepping down and moving on to new adventures after being the top dog in IT for the Jaguars through two owners, 5 coaches, numerous website changes, several message board changes, countless admins and web developers, and a bunch of mods.  He's been a tremendous asset to the team and this community.

Never knew his name before this, but did exchange several PM's back and forth over the years. Cool guy. I always just knew him as JID like most of us here, except for FBT and maybe some other mods I guess.

I was fortunate enough to meet Bruce once or twice, and work under him for some time as a member here. He's a great all around guy, and deserves nothing but praise for what he's done, and nothing but best wishes for future endeavors.

Bruce has to be pretty cool, he never even banned me, at all. As a matter of fact, he never even seemed to know I was alive ... I figure he treated us all alike like we were all his illegitimate children that he hasn't made his child support payment on.

They were able to negotiate an acceptable compromise and all parties have lived up to their side of the agreement. Kudos to JID/Bruce for listening and for coming to the middle. Classy move.

Bruce,  thank you for all your efforts with the Jaguars.Com Forum and for the Jaguars organization as a whole.

 

I really appreciate that under your leadership,  I always felt comfortable participating in the Jaguars. Com Forum,  even though I have a different favorite team.   There are some NFL Team Forums that don't really welcome fans of other teams.   Thanks to your direction,  this Forum is a great place for fans of all teams that want to have football conversations about the Jaguars and any other team in the league.  The addition of the College Football Forum continues to be a tremendous addition,  both in terms of the NFL Draft and the College Football games.  Whoever replaces you has very high standards to meet.
