Does the future of this team ride on these Texans games?

If we lose these games it helps puts 2 W's in the Texans win column pushing them back in the draft (potentially away from guys like Clowney) and gets us closer to the #1 pick. If we win we could potentially lose our franchise QB (Bridgewater) and hand him to the Texans. Who we will face twice a year. Logically can anyone really say any good comes from winning here?

I believe that there is zero benefit to beating the Texans even once.

Would it be more beneficial to lose? Yes. Do I hope we lose? Nope. I can't root for us to lose, even if I know it's probably for the better.

In a related story, "Would it be bad if an asteroid hit the earth?" "More on that at 11:00"

Both would be bad. Both have the same statistical chance of happening.

given the way both teams are playing this year it, this could be one of the best games of the year for us.

I think most Jaguar fans want Bridgewater.

I think most Texans fans want Manziel.

The irony would be if the Jaguars win and the two end up switched.

why would the texans fans want manzeil, just from a tebow standpoint?

Because he plays for TA&M.

It would be Colts 2011 all over again if we lost to the Texans both times. So yes it would be bad.

Seems like it. But he is a better NFL prospect.

Too hard to predict.

Sometimes a light bulb goes on for a team and they become great outta nowhere.  See the 2012 Ravens and 2011 Giants.

The texans could win out or we could get a couple of wins in.  Unpredictable.

They're not winning the Super Bowl.

Would that be a bad thing??

I have no problem with losses as long as I see a top effort given.  The talent isn't there, but the effort has been excellent the past 2 games.  Play well and lose works for me.

I saw the Start Em Sit Em ticker say to start Case Keenum. Damn son. We get no respect but I'll take the L for the long term future.

I hope we win both games against the Texans.  That will keep us from getting Teddy, so we can be mired in mediocrity for another decade.

That will make some of the "fans" on this board happy - a couple meaningless wins that will destroy the franchise.

I hold nothing against the Jag fans who want to root for a win...I get it.  Its the high and mighty fans who have trouble understanding why some of us want loses at this point that gets annoying.  There is nothing more important for the future of the franchise than for the Jags to control the #1 pick this year.  Not #2 or #3.  Anything less than the #1 pick this year will be another enormous missed opportunity.

To be honest with you, I don't even care what Caldwell does with the pick (I want Bridgewater).  Its the opportunity to control the entire draft.
