Kelvin Taylor: Future Jaguar?

#1

I know it's REALLY early to even discuss this, but wouldn't it be cool to have Freds son running the football for the Jags in the future?

Odds are against it but its possible.

It would be a great story if both Kelvin Taylor and Barry Sanders Jr. are in the same draft and go on to have NFL careers even close to what their Dads accomplished.

I see what you are getting at, but we need a running back next year because MJD is a shell of his former self in a contract year. The player we need is Carlos Hyde, who one NFL.com writer thinks is at least as good as Green Bay's Eddie Lacy.

What I have noticed over the years is sons of HOFplayers are never nearly as good as their dads unless their last name is Matthews.

What about St. Louis Rams DE Chris Long?

I did not know his dad played in the NFL.

His dad is former Raiders DE Howie Long,  who is in the Pro Football HOF.

Chris Long's  brother,  G Kyle Long,  is the starting RG of the Chicago Bears,  after surprisingly being taken by the Bears in the 1st Round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

If he is even half the player his dad was in the NFL then I would be all for it.

I'd rather this team were unable to get him (assuming he is a top draft prospect) because they are drafting at the top of the order by that time.

Peyton and Eli are pretty darn good too...as was Kellen Winslow Jr. before the motorcycle accident.

The thing that impresses me most in this play is how Jimmy gains 10 yards on Fred in like 2 seconds.

You've never seen a crackhead run before?

At least through his first 5 1/2 seasons of his NFL Career,   Chris Long has followed the path of Archie Manning in that he's a very good player on teams that have never had winning seasons.

On the other hand,  Peyton and Eli Manning have had team success much like Howie Long.

Even though KWII isn't the player he was earlier in his career,   to his credit he was still producing earlier this season for the Jets in what is his 10th NFL season.    While Kellen Winslow Sr. was the more accomplished of the two,   unfortunately his career was cut short because of a severe knee injury.   Before the injury,  Winslow Sr.  was playing at a level that very few,  if any,  ever played the TE position.
