Dwayne Gratz vs Larry Fitzgerald

#1

Should be a nice test for our young rookie.

It will be like Larry never got off the bus...

Maybe he can make a name for himself here.  But at the same time, Fitzgerald's numbers have dropped the past couple seasons.

Should be easy compared to the Locker to Nate Washington combo.

I can't wait to see it.

Being a rookie and being asked to cover Fitz has gotta be unreal.

I don't think Gratz will be following Larry exclusively, Larry bounces around where he lines up. That said I'll be interested how the secondary as a whole does against Larry.

Fitz will likely find himself open a few times Sunday regardless of who is covering him, but it's Palmer that will likely keep him from blowing up - more than our secondary.

Unless he catches a "home run" ball  - I doubt he'll eclipse 75 yards receiving.

It definitely will be good for Gratz to match up with him a few times in terms of gaining experience.  The kid already looks much more comfortable out there than Cox did in his rookie campaign and I think he'll hold his own save a rookie lapse or two.

Gratz had a strong preformance last week.  Fitz has been going down hill since 2011.  Should be a solid game for the rook.

I'm really happy with Gratz, I wasn't expecting much when we drafted him but at this point I think he may have been our best selection.

Gratz will be given a chance to cover him man to man mostly on the outside and we will probably see more zone used with a LB and inside CB near Fitz when he lines up in the slot.

This is definitely a game where he can make a name for himself but i also expect Fits to beat him on 1 jump ball and probably on a slant at least once.

When targeted and in man coverage  im hoping to see him limit Fitz to 3 or less receptions and under 50 yards. I know Fitz will likely get some plays against our zone and probably end up with 6 for 110 but so long as less than half of it comes against gratz and he deflects a couple passes i think that would be a good sign for him moving forward.

If he gets another pick im going to get his jersey though.

Fitzgerald has slowed down, but that's because teams are scheming against him...

When you only have one good player.... ::COUGH COUGH:: :MJD:: ::COUGH COUGH:: the defense tends to shift in your direction.... i.e. all of our opponents putting 9 in the box on passing downs.

The less-that-distinguished list of arms tossing him the rock have more to do with it than opponents schemes I think. Put Rodgers back there and Fitz would be all world again in short order.

Gratz has played very well for his short time on the field.  Good hands and good instincts.  If he can stay healthy we have a good player on our hands.
