Lets take a look at our Offense and Defense for next season

#1

We will have our QB next season.

We are set at WR IF Blackmon is back next year.

FB Pryor is serviceable.

LT is set for the next 8 to 10 years.

RT is up in the air

Center is up in the air

RG Nwaneri is serviceable

LG is up in the air

Slot Mike Brown is up and coming. Ace Sanders could breakout next season. Robinson could make some noise.

On defense it always starts up front. We all know we need a sack specialist. Our DTs positions are both up for grabs. LE is serviceable with Mincey.

LB have 2 spots that will be vacant. Sam and Will. Poz could be our Mike if he is still in Jax but his contract sky high.

Seconday will be anchored by Gratz and Cyphrien. Evans could be our other safety if he can translate his raw talent into field awareness. There is more to playing safety than just hitting hard. There will be a CB2 spot up for grabs.

Special teams are set with Scobee and Anger.

If we can fill these spots via the draft or in free agency then we could make a playoff push as early as next season.

Khan will be able to open up the check book in free agency since will be #1 in under the cap money.

Sign 4 Olinemen and 3 LBbs in free agency; draft a QB, DE, DT, DB, and TE. Fill in the bottom third with UDFA/vet minimum guys.

Find a center and one guard the line will improve drastically.

Find a pass rusher be it LB Leo or De just find one

Bring in one more every down DT for run support

Draft the QB

The rest you can fix as it goes

Mincey won't be back IMO. They're not paying him 4m. Babin, whatever. Gonna need to sign a FA on both sides and draft someone on both sides. RB late rounds, need a TE who can run. Wow. That's a lot already.

Way,way, way too optimistic. If we learned anything this year to me it is that the youth movement through drafting takes time to develop.

We should get a few more youngsters in here for seasoning and wait one more year before Khan starts spending his free agent money and by then we will have a clear view of what positions to target in regards to a playoff push. If a can't miss free agent falls in our lap for the right price then we should sign him. If not let's wait until 2015 when we will truly be ready.

Does anyone besides me think we can find a better punter than Anger? He stinks.

Babin, Meester, Alualu, Henne, Gabbert, Poz, Lewis, MJD - going to be a lot of players to replace next year.  You can't completely overhaul the least talented roster in NFL history in two years.  It's at least a 3-4 year rebuilding to get back to the playoffs.

Oh really? His pin point punting helped a lot Sunday.

I would like to see more of Harbor he's shown some talent at TE

We do not know that yet. Well, lemme put it this way....we do not know that we will have the RIGHT QB yet for next season....I mean, this team could easily blow this thing and miss out on Bridgewater and end up with a bum like Carr or Mariota and there will be the false assumption that "we have our QB" heading into next season when he's really garbage and hasn't solved anything in regards to fixing the position.

So you picked one game in 2 years to justify a punter picked in the 3rd round? Sounds typical.

Just a thought but does anyone think that any of our interior linemen would move to center and maybe able to play better? also of our current D Linemen the only one that i really enjoy watching and hope sticks around is Marks, he kinda reminds me of stroud/henderson days.

You nailed it IMO. I hope we concentrate on the O-line. Especially the interior. I think Austin Pasztor has done surprisingly well filling in. I pray Blackmon can conquer his demons but he is a big question mark. Do we draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd rounds? Maybe. We really need a top DE. We have been so unlucky drafting them though. We need to get lucky. Hope our GM has a good crystal ball.

The main thing we need to be a good football team is depth.

Oh, and that Bridgewater guy. He good.

I didn't see him justify the pick, he's saying we don't need a different one.

Thoughts

OL

LT- SET

RT- Need to find a mauler, Austin has been ok in pass protection but has struggled to get a push in the run game.

RG- Our Guard play is amongst the worst in football, both positions need to be upgraded

LG- SEE RG

C- Brad has actually been our most consistent OL, that's not saying much however, the C position should've been upgraded years ago. DC will certainly look to upgrade the position with a younger more athletic option.

DL

RDE- Upgrade

DT- Marks has been effective rushing the passer, he will be a starter next year.

DT- Upgrade, DC will have to find a DT that can eat up space while generating a push in the run game, this will be a priority.

LDE- Upgrade

LB's

LOLB- Upgrade

MLB- Poz is solid; his cap number might make him expendable however.

ROLB- Upgrade

Secondary

LCB- Set

RCB- Upgrade

NCB- Set, I like both WB and AB in this spot.

SS- Set

FS- Up in the air

Skill positions

QB- Upgrade

RB- Upgrade

FB- Serviceable

WR1- Up in the air

WR2- Set

WR3- Upgrade, Ace Sanders is a decent 4th receiver, but his value comes as a punt returner. The Jaguars need to target a more physical WR that can blow the top off opposing defenses.

TE Upgrade- I can see DC targeting a more quick twitch athlete at this position with long speed.
