This was inevitiable. We have been needing a new scoreboard for years. I remember once JDR challenged a play where a member of the other team appeared to go out of bounds on the scoreboard, but the replay TV confirmed the call was correct that the ball carrier's foot did not touch the end line for a safety. The announcer that day explained JDR's problem was the scoreboard's size.

Its a step in the right direction but it won't silence the naysayers. The only thing that would silence the critics will be for us to consistently sell the stadium out, and eventually reach Khan's dream of removing the tarps for good.

I think we all can agree that we are currently in a 4 year trial. We have 4 years to prove to Khan and the rest of the world that the Jacksonville Jaguars and its fans are dead serious and are here to stay. But we have to do our part.

Now we have to listen to the critics of the expenditure who will cite the hordes of starving and homeless children.

Very excited to see if we can land the BCS championship, high profile soccer matches and an annual FSU / Clemson or FSU / MIami tilt.

yeah, and ---they---- have to do their part too. i,e, making the decisions that generate an exciting & successful product on the field.

um, they're only getting new scoreboards, not a new building.

Using bed tax money that is already dedicated to facilities like sports complex so hopefully they understand this and do not gripe too loud. Nicely done Jax.

Not Clemson or Miami. It gets the Florida/Georgia game because of proximity to both schools. But if Florida and FSU did not have a home and home tradition, it would be a good place for their annual matchup.

They refuse to understand it.  It will be used as a constant bone of contention.

Everbank is a world class facility. Why do you say we cannot host these events? The Citrus bowl expects to compete for the BCS after it's 200 million reno and it still will not be the facility that Jax municipal is.

I disagree with your lack of proximity claim. Clemson and Miami are perfect regarding proximity. Also, if we do land a permanent FSU tilt it will have to be a conference rival not a team like Florida.

What I mean is Jacksonville is not halfway between Tallahassee and Miami.

Read the comments on the news 4 Jax and times union articles. They don't get it.

Edit: better yet, don't read it. It's pretty annoying.
