Johnny Manziel is not an NFL QB. He is Tim Tebow/Vince Young 2.0.

Quote:1. Bridgewater's weight measurement is the one Louisville took from his freshman season and has continued to provide in its programs. Those are rarely updated and I believe he said he was 220-ish this summer.

2. You're absolutely delusional if you think Johnny Manziel is six-foot-friggin'-one and the "most physical quarterback in the country". The dude never seeks contact or is supposed to take any... how can he be the most physical?

Quote:I don't care about his height/weight. You obviously have no idea how body compositions work and you're just trying to find anything to justify your opinion.

200lbs on one person can look totally different than 200lbs on another. I don't care how much he weighs, he doesn't pass the eye test. He's a small guy that's poorly built, and I believe he will get killed at the next level. I said the same thing about RGIII. RGIII is 220lbs. How much they weigh has nothing to do with how they are built.

Quote:Teddy Bridgewater is a pocket passer. Johnny Manziel is not.

One quick google search shows that Bridgewater weighed in this season at 218lbs. You're making yourself look really really bad here.

Funny way of not seeking contact. Im not saying physicality is going to make or break a QB, but Manziel is not made of glass. He does have a higher chance of getting hurt, but that's the risk of taking a mobile QB.

There is a pic of RG3 letting his poorly built body get in his way. He's poorly built because he is not built like a running back?

If you are a running QB, if you don't slide your going to get hurt no matter how big you are.

Funny google search that shows him as 218. On the google search page it says 196, on ESPN it says the same, and CBS sports has him at 205.

Cody Green of Tulsa by far. Here's a little bit of video from the 2012 season where Green directed Tulsa to a championship over UCF. Check out Trey Watts punt return. Good stuff.

I don't get the tebow comparisons. Tebow can/could not throw except for the long ball. Manziel makes all kinds of throws. I'm also leaning more towards him not being great in the NFL, but he isn't tebow.

You are completely missing the point of what physical means. Lowering your head and trying to bury a player is not 'being physical' that's being stupid. There is no way that he can do what he does against bigger/stronger/faster NFL defensemen without getting hurt regularly. He's an even scrawnier Michael Vick.

Also, RG3 is a complete tank compared to Manziel and still gets hurt every other week because he refuses to be smart and get down or out of bounds. EJ Manuel is 6'3'' 240 big and got a major injury 5 games into his career because he didn't get out of bounds. It doesn't matter what the build of the QB is if he doesn't protect himself when he runs he is going to get hurt a lot, and Manziel doesn't even try to protect himself.

Unless Tampa bay wins a game the Bridgewater points are mute. We get to settle on one of the over hyped "runnung" qb's or trade down....trade down if there is no chance at TB.
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

The Bucs will probably win tonight. Will it no longer be "mute" at that time?

He didn't say a word about them playing the same style. He said they use the same buzzwords to describe the two (playmaker, winner, just gets it done, etc.), which they do. He also said that their games don't translate to the NFL, which they don't.

First off if you compare Manziel to Tim Tebow your clueless. Just because they are both mobile doesnt mean they are the same. Manziel has a WAY better arm then Tebow. It’s not even close.

For those saying all Manziel does is "look at one read and run" have you ever watched him play? He consistently extends the play and looks all over the field looking for the open WR. He rarely just does a quick 3 second read and then runs. He runs around in the pocket extending the play and if he can’t find anyone then he runs.

Then the idea that Evans bails him out all the time? What about last year when Ryan Swope was putting up similar stats? Evans is a beast but this idea that all he does is chuck it up to Evans is a joke. Evans has 12 tds, Manziel has 39 combined touchdowns.

Again, im not saying being physical has anything to.do with being a QB. I was just saying that Manziel is not some " frail child ", he is small obviously, but its not like he plays like it. I was saying basically what you just said in this post, that even the huge mobile QBs get injured.

And since we are now judging how good of a qb he is based on his shirtless picture... He kinda looks like this guy shirtless...

You also have to remember Manziel is only 20 years old. He will put more muscle mass on.

Yep good call, and if Manziel learns to protect himself from big hits the way Brady does he'll be fine. Unfortunately there is very, very little to suggest he will ever do that. It's not about the build (ok, it is a little bit), it's about protecting yourself.

Then I want a QB who plays like a small QB. I want a Kaepernick who can and does run well, but is extremely good at taking what he can get and sliding or getting out of bounds. He never subjects himself to big hits.

I don't want a 'brave' Vick/RG3/Manziel who always fights for the extra yard at the risk of their health.

I have no idea how anyone can call a current college QB not NFL material without them ever taking a snap in the NFL all together.. Totally blows my mind how closed minded some people just are.. There's been QB's who stunk in college only to come to the NFL and have great careers, and great college QB's who come to the NFL only to stink up the pro level field.. You just don't know until they get drafted and take the field.. You can play armchair QB and fantasy GM all you like and have your own opinion, but in reality, you just don't know until they get their chance to prove it..

No one wants a QB that seeks out contact, like Johnny Manziel does. He needs to learn how to protect himself, like I have said.numerous times.

Werent you the body composition expert that "doesnt care about height/weight"?

I bet RG3 wished he was built like Tom Brady.

Say Manziel is 6'0 200, it really doesn't matter. Russell Wilson is only listed at 5'11 206 on the official Seahawks roster.

Well, Tampa has plenty of chances to win. And the Buccaneers could always select Clowney. That would make you mute.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
