2004 season was seriously awesome. That 27-24 win in Indy was one of the best games I've ever seen. That game at Green Bay was also amazing. 

I still remember that last second Ernest Wilford game winning touchdown in Buffalo with no time left in Week 1. And that 7-6 win against Denver the following week. We went 3-0 that year and we probably could have won the division that year as well, but those heartbreaking losses to the Texans, and Pittsburgh really hurt us.

Didn't we lose like 28-3 in the playoffs though? I also prefer the 2007 team. Even though we had an easy schedule in 05 I still liked that team though. First play of the year was a fumble by seahawks on the kick off, don't ask why I remember that.

The interesting thing about 2005 is that we beat BOTH SB teams that year. The New England game was very disappointing. The game was 0-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and the defense was holding strong against Brady, but in typical New England fashion, they exploited the blown coverage and found a way to win.

 

Out of all the games played in the 2000's, the one that really angered me the most, was the game against the Pats on Christmas Eve in 2006. That Garrard fumble still haunts me and I generally believe that the refs favored the Patriots on that day.

Hypothetical question to everyone out there: "What if the Jags beat the Patriots in 2007?" Would this franchise be totally different from today's? or would it all be roughly the same?

I thought the 14-2 team in '99 was the easiest schedule the team has ever played.

 

2005 was a huge letdown for me as a fan. The team launched itself into the playoffs on a 3-game winning streak, and absolutely dismantled the last two teams they faced. Then, like the Jaguars have done historically, they fell flat on their face and were blown out in the first round. Huge disappointment.

 

2007 was my favorite year of the Shack/Jack/Gene era (error), with the playoff win at Pittsburgh being one of the most memorable games the Jags have ever played.

That is one of the biggest mistakes Del Rio made, I actually remember Matt Jones looking like he was trying in that game. We were very injured at the end of the year, even Fred was injured. New England deliberately lost their last game to get us. Don't know if starting Garrard would have got us the W (prob not), but we wouldn't have only scored 3 points.

Could we? Yes we could, Denver certainly did in the next week with Jake Plummer no less. The Pats were not that good that year. But I am still not sure I think we would have. Del Rio still might have started Lefty, but that was his best season. I would probably give that team a 50% chance back then with a healthy offense of Freddy T. We had Legit D in 2005, thats why we held the Pats to 20 or 21 even with the horrible job our offense did with Lefty out there.

The first time in franchise history that we actually played NFL football in a driving snow storm.
