I noticed that there have been a lot of interceptions returned for TDs this season. After 8 games (7 for most teams) the league has had 35, if I added correctly.

Apparently, this is an ongoing trend. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/...-six/?_r=0 "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" Even Peyton Manning was picked off for touchdowns multiple times. In addition to Paul Posluszny, a Redskins player did it Sunday. I don't think he ever did that in this 14 years with the Colts. (Rashean Mathis did it once, but he should have been flagged for pass interefence.)
Of course, statistics alone can't tell the whole story. Are more quarterbacks doing it because of injuries, coaches, miscommunication, or a combination of factors?

The general decline in tackling probably adds to it too. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
