Anonymous NBA Manager admits that his team will tank the 2013-14 season to try and acquire Andrew Wiggins

After reading this article, you've got to ask this question as an NFL fan: "Has any professional NFL team ever tanked on purpose?" I wouldn't be surprised if such a thing will, or even has already been done in the NFL.

Is this the real reason as to why the Jags are in the situation that they're in right now?

Because it proves me right.

Told you so, anon2112, and Sammy, and others that bashed the hell out of me for even suggesting this happened.

Yup, not only that, but his ceiling even if healthy is Marcus Camby (of the past several years). He has zero offensive game. Thats not a starter in the NBA.

I have told you, repeatedly, and will continue as long as my patience allows, that it has not happened in the NFL.

Not even by that miserable 2011 colts team that you were too busy wetting you pants over Andrew Luck to notice how sucky they were, and laugh.

Teams have tanked.  That is exactly the reason they have the NBA Lottery.  I saw a documentary on it one time and they illustrated one teams coaching changes --- benching players and stuff to get the #1 pick.   I cannot recall which teams were vying for the #1 pick or who that selection even was but it happened about 25 years ago or so.

The Sixers just have a bad GM.

The traded for Bynum last year and he didn't even play.  Now they have Norlens and he won't play.

lol thats a terrible comparison. do you even watch basketball? he will be what larry sanders was last season but a little better. more like david robinson without the offense.

There's a reason the link is bad.  It's because the story is total manure, and the press is starting to catch up and distance themselves.

Love when obvoiusly misinformed people accuse others of not watching things.

Noel has NO SHOT of being even the kind of offensive player Larry Sanders is, not that he's all that great of one.

My comparison of Marcus Camby was much better.

No one is saying that Noel won't be a defensive force. I guess in addition to not knowing who Fran Tarkenton is, you also have never seen Marcus Camby play.

It's rough being from North Florida, I want the Jags and Magic to lose.  Although, I don't think either need to plan on tanking, they're both bad enough the losing will just happen.

camby as of late, as you said, wishes he has the athleticism noel has. camby is too slow and can barely jump. tell me how accurate is that again? i was born in the 90s so all my football and basketball knowledge stems from 1995 to now. so yes i didnt know who fran tankerton was, im sure you cant name all the hall of famers on the top of your head.

I didn't mean Camby as of yesterday.

Lets say Camby within the past 5 years or so. He was a defensive force.

No, you wish.  ESPN reported it about noon, and hasn't said a thing about it since.

Didn't peg you for being gullible, TMD.  Even when it suits your agenda.

you said noels ceiling is camby the past several years. camby barely played two seasons worth of basketball the past 5 years. he was a good defensive anchor the past five years but not a defensive force. tyson chandler was a defensive force, tim duncan is a defensive force. nice try though.

again, you're (probably intentionally) missing the point. WHen Camby played and was healthy, he was a defensive force. Just as good as any other in the game.

And again, the point was Noel's offensive game SUCKS. He's not even going to be Sanders or even Chandler as far as offense goes. He's essentially Dikember Mutombo. Wonderful. I hated that player. Its like dragging an anchor around, offensively. Noel will be the same.
