Wow CJ had more receiving yards than we had total yards.  Very impressive Jags.

I love Jerry Rice as much as the next guy, but Calvin Johnson is simply unstoppable. He is elite in every single aspect of being a wide receiver.

Not to mention he looks like a friggin defensive end.

His nickname should not be Megatron, it should be Blue Jesus for all those prayer jump ball answers he gave to Stafford.

I really want to see what Stafford is like without CJ. The couple games he didn't have him he looked lost.

The NFL should force CJ to retire because he is too good.

He's like a real life created player in Madden.

Why don't we wait and see if CJ is still doing it in 2020? He's awesome yes, but can he be a good as Rice was for as long as he was? Time will tell.

He certainly is,  at least as far as WR's are concerned.     There's never been a WR with the combination of physical skills,  work ethic,   and character that Calvin Johnson has.

One thing that isn't mentioned much by commentators and writers is that Megatron is one of the best blocking WR's in the NFL.     That skill/ desire was on display against the Cowboys yesterday.

While it will be difficult for Calvin Johnson to break Jerry Rice's career records,     it's hard to imagine any WR being more of a differential player than Calvin Johnson is.

It's great to see that you,  so many Jaguars fans,  and fans of other teams in general recognize what Calvin Johnson brings to the table.

Yesterday morning,   there was a very good article in the Detroit Free Press that helps describe Calvin Johnson as a competitor,  teammate,  and person:

There's no question that the absence of Calvin Johnson has severely adversely affected the entire Lions Offense.     That was on display in Green Bay 22 days ago and back in 2009 when Megatron missed 2 consecutive games.

One thing that should be kept in mind is that when any team loses a quality # 1 WR,    that's going to make the job of the QB much more difficult.        The Lions don't have anything remotely close to a # 1 WR when Calvin Johnson is sidelined.

With Calvin Johnson,    Matthew Stafford is easily a top 10 QB in the NFL.      The way the Lions are constructed,     Matthew Stafford,   Calvin Johnson,  and Reggie Bush feed off each other.    Last season when the Lions didn't have the dimension that Bush provides and what Jahvid Best provided in 2010 and 2011 before his career very likely ended because of another concussion,    the Offense didn't function well enough.       Even with Calvin Johnson's record setting yardage season.       This season,   it's pick your poison when the key pieces have been in place.

Two words come to mind when trying to describe Matthew Stafford:   Gamer and Resourceful.      It's a great combination,  especially with an elite arm,   a quick release,   a high IQ,  and weapons like Megatron and Reggie Bush.

Even if he never played another game, he would still be the best. He is unstoppable

Best WR I've ever seen, and a good guy to root for.

Detroit, despite a lot of losing over the past 3 decades, actually has had the fortune of watching some truly elite talents....Billy Sims, Barry Sanders, Herman Moore, Megatron....

Jim Arnold ..... :whistling:

just givin ya a little dig with that last one, D6 Wink
