Do you think the line has gotten better without joeckel and monroe

To me it looks slightly better, but maybe its blackmon or henne just getting rid of it fastet. I'm excited to play a good pass rush with our new guys.

So the offensive line looked better against the 23rd (StL) and 29th (Den) ranked defenses than they did against the 2nd (Sea), 5th (KC), 11th (Ind) and 13th (Oak) ranked defenses? I am surprised.

I don't think you can make a correlation between then line being better without joeckel. I think as the above poster said the quality of defense helps and I think blackmon being back helps the QB get the ball out quicker.

And Denver had no Von Miller.

Henne threw the ball to Blackmon in the slot. They're quick throws, and the DL doesn't have as much time to make plays.

Miller is a linebacker. The guy they missed was Elvis Dumervil.

Are you sure? I saw a picture of him, and didn't see a single line on his back. I think someone is messing with you.

You are the one messing with me, as usual. Most players with 50s numbers (Miller wears 58) are linebackers; linemen usually have 90s numbers (Dumervil wore 92 in Denver).

And literally speaking, there are lines on his back: M = 4 lines, I = 1 line, L = 2 lines, L = 2 lines, E = 4 lines, R = 2 lines.

He wasn't wearing a shirt in the picture I saw of him. It was definitely Miller, and he definitely didn't have any lines on his back.

What you are talking about is a jersey, not a back. Jersies have lots of lines. Von Miller's back does not. Why are you so mean to me?

That linebacker led the team in sacks last year, setting a franchise record of 18.5 and you think they haven't missed him???????

PS   If you can guess whose record he broke you will be forgiven.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

I doubt they're better without Joekel and Eugene, but it does appear they are playing better now. It's really just the entire offense finally figuring it out, but certainly they would be even better right now if both OTs were still here. That said, Cam has always been a decent pass blocker, and for some reason he seems to play even better on the left pass blocking than he does on the right. I never liked Cam as a RT though because he's garbage as a run blocker. Now Pasztor has truly impressed me. He's just good enough as a pass blocker to get by as a RT, but the man is an absolute mauler in the run blocking department. He's actually better than Joeckel as a run blocker, but Eugene was the best run blocker of the bunch. Going from Eugene to Cam on the left side is a huge downgrade when it comes to run blocking on that side, although Marcedes being back should improve the run game altogether.

Well, they're looking better to my novice eyes.  They seem to be getting better grades from those in the know as well.  Paztor seems to be a good find.

Miller is also a pass rushing linebacker.

I thought it looked better as well, but then when I factor in the lack of defense the rams and broncos have i can't tell. Henne did get the ball out quick to Blackmon a lot. So it could be just that. But I like to think that the o line is starting to gel a bit.

Pasztor really is a pleasant surprise.  (Especially when you consider he was a Gene Smith waiver wire pick-up!)

He may only be depth or moved inside to guard next year, but he may also be one of only EIGHT players drafted or signed by Gene still on the roster  next year.

When you think about it - that's one heck of a changing of the guard by Caldwell.

It's less about the tackles and more to do with the interior line finally getting on the same page. Less silly mistakes and errors.

Or maybe it has to do with a different scheme.  The o-line went from zone blocking to man to man blocking and improved.  Just a thought.

I was saying they miss Dumervil because he is a defensive end. Of course I know about Miller's 30 sacks in two years.

I usually don't try to remember who broke what record, but I know a former Broncos linebacker was Bill Romanowski.

That would be because Denver uses MTM defense, right?
