Stand United: It's Tank Time Baby!

#1

It's clear Caldwell wants not only the first pick of the 2014 NFL draft but a boat load of extra picks. I was initially upset that Monroe was traded but now I don't care anymore. Hopefully Dave makes some more moves and unloads some more dead weight such as Lewis, Poz, maybe even MJD. This team needs a lot of help and most of it will not be coming until 2014 and beyond. I know some are upset that we aren't competitive. Well that isn't going to change as our QB doesn't know how to run an offense and get us in position to score. Bradley said he was committed to Gabbert but only because he isn't the type to publicly trash his QB and also because he and Caldwell know that the only way to get their QB is to allow Gabbert to play, thus reinforcing what we already know which is he is not a franchise QB. So really what we are looking at is simply a year to watch our young players develop, and actually that's not so bad. ...especially in the secondary. So I say sit back, relax, and let's tank baby.

All I have to say is I hope Bridgewater is worth it. Because Bradfield is going to get destroyed this Sunday and for 10 more Sundays (and one Thursday).

Being a senior and living on a fixed income I can't afford to just throw my money away. So to follow Caldwell's example I think I will tank the rest of the season too and sell  my ticket's for the rest of the year and not renew my season ticket's for the next year or two.

It's certainly going to be more enjoyable to watch young guys build each other up than watching the same old guys you know aren't taking the franchise anywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised to see three new QBs on the roster next season.

I think you meant to say "Gabbert is going to get destroyed this Sunday, and if he's still alive the Sunday after that.  He'll be lucky to last 10 Sunday's (and one Thursday)"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I agree.

I see us drafting Teddy along with another QB with one of the extra picks we garnered with the Monroe trade.  The third will be some veteran free-agent.

I actually sighed in relief upon hearing of the Monroe trade.  We picked up several extra draft picks that we probably wouldn't have gotten in compensatory had he just walked.  Draft picks are extremely valuable, especially if the team is in the process of rebuilding.  Plus, Joeckel is has more "left tackle" qualities than he does on the right side.  I think he's going to be a great left tackle eventually.

We've hit rock bottom, but we're on the way up.  It just sucks the draft is so far away.

By the year 2025, we will have obtained every single pick in the 2026 draft.

He's leading the league in tackles because our offense is always punting the ball to the opponent.

LOL....

But honestly if that happened. Championship for at least 3-4 years

I think you speak for many. The problem is, does this give Khan his excuse to haul buggy when the stadium is empty? Do fans keep coming back to experience what they have for the last 7-8 years..perhaps worse? Some think that we are blessed to have an NFL team here. I did. Had tix for 17 years. The "thank you sir, may I have another" kick in the rear is getting tiresome. Carrying the torch upside down will do that.
