So How Are We Going To Compare To The 2008 Lions?

(This post was last modified: 10-01-2013, 04:17 PM by surfon.)

Here is the results for Detroits 0-16 season.  They were outscored 517 pts to 268.  What I see is they at least started being somewhat competitive starting with the fifth game.  Lets hope by some miracle the jags can do the same.

As of the season qtr mark we have 31 pts and allowed 129 that translates to 124 pts scored and 516 allowed.  Now I think our scoring will improve and it has to to double to at least reach the lions pts for that season.  Ouch.

Dang... they actually had quite a few close games (10 pts or fewer) and lost 3 by 4 or fewer

As long as we end up with the 1st overall pick, I really don't care all that much...

Even though in all honesty I don't believe this team is as bad as that team, nor will finish with a winless record.

But in the age of media hyperbole....we MUST conform and believe and NOT think for ourselves!! And so it goes...

Ha right?!

I wasnt around during the Bucs losing streak in the 70's so I dont know how bad they were. I did watch some of those Lions games and they were entertaining to watch, we ARE NOT. They also had much better players than we do

  • Ravens @ Steelers 2002 (PIT 34-31)
  • Jaguars @ Titans 2009 (TEN 30-13)
  • Jaguars @ Titans 2012 (TEN 38- 20)
  • Colts @ Jaguars 2013 (IND 37-3)
  • Jaguars @ Titans 2014 (TEN 16-14)
  • Panthers @ Jaguars 2015 (CAR 20-9)
  • Jaguars @ Titans 2015 (TEN 42-39)

I used to think along these lines, however I am being convinced this team might actually be worse.  They have shown me nothing on either side of the ball and we will see after this sunday against the rams where this team really stands.

This is pathetic.  Comparing us to one of the worst teams in NFL history (Detroit did not break Tampa Bay's losing streak record) should never have to happen.

For anyone old enough to remember the 1976 Buccaneers, compare those 14 games and the first two games in 1977 to see if they were better or worse than the 2008 Lions over a 16-game span.

We can turn this thing around and go 11-5 with Tebow. The guy can save this franchise. We can go from worst to first.

We are worse than the 2008 Lions based solely on talent.  I don't care if we pull off some BS win where the other team beats itself, we are far worse then they ever were.  Joey Harrington actually put up numbers hes just a bozo like Henne and managed to screw up games for them.  Has Gabbert even thrown for 300 yds ONCE yet in his entire career?
