Because It's Never Too Early...

#1

1. Teddy Bridgewater QB 6'3 196 Louisville.

2. Eric Ebron TE 6'4 245 UNC - Does it all as a TE, and even took some snaps last year as a DE. He's playing good now but think he's only scratched the surface as a TE. Gives us a legit receiving threat at TE

3. Jeremiah Attaochu DE 6'3 245 Georgia Tech - Plays OLB/End at GT I think he'd be a great fit as a pass rusher and could rotate in right away and provide some much needed pressure.

4. Gabe Ikard Interior OL 6'3 300 Oklahoma - Another former TE convert from Oklahoma has been a 4 year starter at both center & guard. Like his athleticism and he finishes his blocks.

5a. Jeff Matthews QB 6'4 225 Cornell - He can sit behind Teddy Bridgewater & iron out the wrinkles in his game, he's got the arm strength and good accuracy to go with his size. Reminds me a bit of Matt Ryan.

5b. Boseko Lokombo OLB 6'3 230 Oregon - Pretty solid all around LB, worked his way up to being a starter through his special teams play. Think he could provide some solid competition at the OLB spot.

6. Antonio Andrews RB 6' 219 WKU - Could possibly go earlier, but he's got everything you need in a RB averaging 7.5 ypc this year. All around back with over 100 yards in every game but one where he had 99 and has yet to dip below 5 ypc in a game.

7. Brad Daly DE 6'1 240 Montana State - 18 sacks combined in the 2011-2012 seasons. 9 through 5 games so far this year. He's dominating at his level of competition so I think a 7th rounder would be the perfect place to take a flyer on him.

This mock was made under the following assumptions:

We get the #1 pick.

We sign at least one good starting interior OL in FA, don't know who but we need to protect our #1 pick.

We retain Blackmon at CB. He's been pretty solid for the most part from what I've seen.

I actually thought about Jeffcoat and McGill too but after I looked into McGill some more turns out he reported for Utah's camp at 220 and had to quickly drop some weight.

I believe McGill is 6'2 so at 6'2 210-220lbs he is in the Bradley mold for a CB.

Edit: He is listed at 6'3 so he is probably 6'1 or 6'2.

We'll have 8+ picks. Gimme Teddy and spend the other picks in OL, LEO, and secondary. Gimme 3 OL, two LEOs, and two DBs

I think we should walk away from this draft with 2 QBs. #1 TB and then a project guy later in case TB doesn't pan out.

Sick

No way does this team pass on a QB in the first, and no way do we trade from 1 to 2 for a 3rd and then not take Clowney (or Bridgewater).

Anyway, I'm bad with mock drafts but... based on my extremely limited knowledge of college football (Think of it as 'picking names out of a hat' but with a little more thought)

1st Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville

2nd CJ Mosely, OLB, Alabama

3rd Za'Darius Smith, DE, Kentucky

4th Gabe Ikard, C, Oklahoma

5th Zach Metteberger, QB LSU

5th Brandon Thomas, G, Clemson

6th James White, RB, Wisconsin

7th James Gayle, DE Virginia Tech

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Eh, I'm selling on James White in the NFL. I'd rather use that pick on another interior lineman. Other than that, I'd be pretty stoked about this draft.

Za'Darius Smith is a beast. He is going to skyrocket when the combine comes around.

I think Za'Darius Smith will be seen as a first-round pick by the spring.

He's already eligible?

Does anyone have a feel for how he has played? He was the #1 overall recruit a few years back, wasn't he?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

He is a Senior. I have to admit I haven't watched Miami this year. My opinion of Henderson is based on what I saw last year. He reminds me of Osemele from The Ravens. I don't think he has the feet or technique to play even right tackle  in the NFL, but I think he could be dominant at guard. Can any of the U fans out there offer opinions of his play this year or any other insight ?

I really like Osemele, if Henderson turns out like him I'd take that every day on the interior.
