It Is A Good Year To Be Drafting At The Top.

#1

Sometimes it can be bittersweet drafting at the top. This is one of those years.

Oddly, the Jaguars haven't drafted much at the top at all.  Before last year we were never a Top 5 pick team except when we traded up to get Blackmon.  The Jaguars were the team that had the third longest such streak (after the patriots and steelers iirc).

To be picking at the Top again is unfortunate.  But this year isn't a bad year for it.  It's nice our GM has a chance to draft the Top QB (or to pass on him if he so chooses).  Gene Smith never really had that opportunity (surprisingly) in a year where the Top QB is actually considered good.

...I just wonder if ESPN will start their draft coverage with commercials for the first time.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Lol, I made a thread about that last year. They go to commercial after the 1st pick... then when they come back they said "we will be commercial free for the remainder of the 1st round."

I'm glad I waited until next year to get my first new jersey. I'll be getting a Bridgewater or Clowney jersey. Can't wait!

It would be very fitting if we did get the top pick and Bridgewater decided not to enter the draft.

Take Clowney #1, take (enter QB name here) #33, throw him to the sharks. If he pans out, we got our guy. If he doesn't, we draft #1 again and get Clowney and Bridgewater -_-.

But man, would that suck to wait for.

An actual NFL afficionado could not possibly think we would be drafting anything other than a QB in the first round lol. You can dream for the overrated DE all day and all night, but it's not happening.

It is a virtual certainty that we will be taking Bridgewater #1, and I'll be getting a jersey.

Clowney's name will stop being mentioned before the year is over. I'm technically surprised it hasn't already been dropped entirely already. I realize teams are game planning around him, but regardless he's been lazy this year.

Clownin' for Clowney 2013!
