Lo/sing Teams Tracker

#1

Now that we know Jacksonville is still one of the worst teams in the NFL, I want to try something different: track the losingest teams throughout the season. You want to get the top pick, but you don't want to lose more games than everyone else either. So what you really want to do is root for all teams with the same record each week since real Jaguars fans never want their favorite team to lose, but usually expect that to happen.

Five other teams are 0-3: the Steelers, Giants, Redskins, Buccaneers, and Vikings. We know Tampa Bay always sucks and just made a quarterback switch. Minnesota lost to the Browns and may also need to change quarterbacks. The Giants are a complete disaster. I don't know the strength of schedule for any NFL team, but I do know these five teams have some hard games to play.

I wish I could edit the ititle to get the stupid slash out of it.

Is there any reason losingest can't be a word?

Well the following winless teams aren't winless anymore: Washington, Minnesota.  Also the browns won again if that's anything worthy to note involving the draft selection situation.

So now the current winless teams are:

Jags

Steelers

Giants

Bucs

Only team now that is a threat to take Bridgewater from the Jags is Tampa Bay.   Steelers and Giants will obviously adress other concerns if somehow by chance they get the top pick.  One thing going in the Bucs favor (or should I say our favor), is that their D is superior to ours, but of course that's not saying much when, like us, they can't seem to score much.

You don't know the Jaguars want Teddy Bridgewater. I will wait until after the Super Bowl to worry about who our next quarterback should be, etc.

If the Jaguars would rather pick Clowney (forget probabiliy here), which winless team would be most likely to steal him first?

Well that would depend on the draft order.  As far as the Jaguars wanting Teddy Bridgewater is concerned, you're absolutely right, I can't read the future, nor can I accurately say who they'll get at all.  However selecting a QB in round 1, considering how starved for a QB the team is currenty is, is certainly a good bet.

Tampa Bay has a better run game and D so they'll win at least a few, and Mike Glennon is better than Gabbert. We've pretty much got a lock on the 1st pick in the draft.

Not so fast. You have to let the season play out to see if the quarterback switch in Tampa translates into having a better offense than they did with Josh Freeman.
