There Isn't A Single Thing To Be Upset About Anymore.

We already know the Jags are unquestionably the worst team in the NFL, this isn't going to change anytime soon. In fact, I am expecting several more blow outs, and cannot see a single win on our schedule. So why am I not upset? For years, the Jags have teetered on being slightly better than average or just a little bit better than absolute worst, which has caused us to be out of contention for a number of elite prospects. For the first time in a long time, this team isn't going to be lukewarm, it is going to be bitterly cold, meaning extremely bad. We don't have to be teased this year. The team is bad. But they will get better, so just sit back and relax. Watch some football, watch our guys like Joeckel and Cyp develop, and have hope but realize it won't be fulfilled until we get a real QB to lead this team. I think finally that time is coming, a chance to get our own Luck/RG3/Wilson.

I'd call being unquestionably the worst team in the league something to be upset about.

How mad would this fan base be if we get the #1 overall pick and DON'T take Teddy? Laughing I don't think it will happen just the reaction would be epic!

I feel numb for the simple fact that we might have a franchise Qb next year.. I feel no pain

I'll see how the team looks with Blackmon, if the games don't improve much over these first 3, I'll just skip the 2nd half of the season.  Blow outs are boring

Why?

What's the point?

Is it going to change anything?

We knew this team was going to be bad this year. They gutted the roster. A year from now this team should be in a better place if the front office knows what they're doing. Let's give it a chance.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I don't understand the uproar either.

It isn't like they tried to hide this is a ground up rebuild.

They haven't made excuses, or tried to act like we are one player away.

You pump so much sunshine, you're not entitled to saying "We knew this team was going to be bad this year".

You've been the one shouting down everyone that questioned the previous regime.  You've been the one writing glowing practice reports when it was Arena League 1 vs. Arena League 2 talent on display.

Don't act like you've been one of the realists on this board as you've been anything but.

That'd be like saying "What's the point in getting [fill in emotion here] about football at all?"

Your emotions aren't going to change anything regardless of what they happen to be. My point is that, if you are going to be upset about football, your team unquestionably being the worst is a valid reason for being upset.

EDIT: I fully expected us to suck this season, and perhaps even a few seasons from now. Doesn't change that I'm emotionally invested in the team and am not exactly happy to see us suck this badly.

it doesn't have to be Teddy....there's several QBs in the draft this year, any one of which will be waaay better than blame gabber and garbageman.

So why not take the best that is extremely polished all around?

That 45 year old that played for the Sharks last year with about 1000 career TDs would seriously be better than Gabbert or Henne.

Cause Clowney is the best as well. Imagine him playing 100%. Make Williams look like a walk in the park.

I was actually pretty encouraged today.  When our defense has a competent offense on the other side of the ball, maybe they won't be gassed enough to let Tavaris Jackson beat them in the 2nd half.  The D played well, IMO, by causing a couple of turnovers and having some pretty airtight coverage for parts of the game.  They'll improve.

Our offensive skill position players are very good.  Shorts is going to be a star.  Blackmon will, as well.  I think we're a QB and an interior offensive line away from being a playoff team.  We could be there as soon as next year if the pieces fall the right way.  So sit back, relax, and watch the guys improve.

Did you guys see the Giants play today? In all honesty after watching a little bit of that game, if the Jaguars are the worst team in the league, the Giants aren't too far behind. And the Giants have a franchise QB, so that team really has no excuse.

Do you think the Jaguars would lose 38-0 at Carolina? Because the Giants did today.

The Jaguars are rebuilding. Sometimes you have to be really bad before you can be really good. To be honest I would rather see this board raging with anger over the results. Fan passion must remain strong. Apathy is always a killer. That's what you never want from your fan base.  Sadly, I am reading too many posts here that express apathy and contentment. The Jaguar fan base needs to be stronger than that.

So you expected the team to suck, they did, and now you're upset about it.

I'm invested in this team. I expected them to stink this year after blowing up the roster. I'm not thrilled about it, but I put things in perspective. It's almost comical how bad this team is right now, but I expect to see it improve as the season progresses. Young players should improve, and we should start identifying the building blocks to move forward with.

This year is the first, and most painful step in the process, but things will improve. We may struggle to get to 2 wins, but the product on the field should get better just the same.

Because anger would solve anything?  I am very, very passionate when watching the games, believe me.  But afterward, I need to sit back and look at the big picture.

You see all the threads calling for the GM and coach and OC to be fired already, right?  That's the kind of "fan passion" (i.e., idiocy) that you seem to be advocating.
