Todd McShay doesn't even have Manziel in his top 5 QB list

And another INT for Gardner on the opening drive.

Quote:He called Devin Gardner garbage, to troll. If you want to help him out, you shouldn't compare him to the best of the best college QBs in college football. Compare him to the league average. How many guys in college football have 29+ TDs in 8 games.

If you feel he is NFL ready now....then yes I am going to compare him to the QBs that are likely entering the draft.

I am not debating his draft status. I am debating that he is not garbage.

Fair enough. No, he isn't garbage...IMO. Btw it's hard flipping back and forth between this and Stanford. Gotta keep an eye on my boy Trent Murphy.

I think Gardner stays. In the off season he will add 10-15 lbs of muscle and after another solid season, hopefully with better decision making, he could/would be the top QB taken in 2015 draft.

He might..... but he already graduated. He graduated last Spring, I believe. How many players have played two college football seasons after they've graduated?

You got a point, but if he enters the draft this year...as things are right now....he probably won't get drafted until 4th round. If he converts back WR/Option Specialist he will go 2nd - 3rd. That's just IMO.

Not going to lie. I'm rooting for UCONN today and UCF next week, so that Teddy can stop hearing about bad competition.....assuming he can lead the Cards to victory in those games.

I take back everything I said about Gardner. The kid is clearly a fine QB specimen.

Bench Gardner for the freshman.

Horrible game. 3 turnovers again. He is going to have to do something about that if he wants to play on Sundays.

Michigan's O-Line might be worse that the Jaguars O-Line. They are baaaaad.

Not a chance. Morris is way too raw. He missed his entire senior HS season with Mono. Gardner gives Michigan the best chance to win. He just has to quit turning the dang ball over.

Quote:I really don't see Manziel as a true franchise QB at the next level.  He may wind up proving me wrong, but between his stature and his maturity, he seems to be somewhat of a risk.  He's fun to watch, but if you're the one pulling the trigger on draft day, and you've got the first pick, his name is not the one you're going to be sending to the podium in May to start the draft.

Agree. I have no idea whether or not Manziel can be any good in the NFL, but he sure is fun to watch.

He is very accurate, unlike another recent Heisman winner, and has amazing balance and acceleration. He also seems to be surprisingly durable (jinx!) for an undersized running QB. I have doubts about his arm strength.

I don't even think he's all that accurate. He throws a lot of stupid balls that he either gets bailed out on by his receiver or the defender drops. He should have had like 5 picks in that Alabama game. He just gets a ton of guys open in the flat because of his movement behind the line.

There was that one lucky throw against Bama, but he regularly hits receivers in stride 20+ yards downfield.

Sean Salisbury was being interviewed on 1010 this week, and he's incredibly high on Manziel.  Said if Manziel was Jags QB this season, they'd win 6 games.

Wow 6 whole games? So why would we take him that high?

Probably could have stopped there.
