2014 Quarterbacks in the NFL Draft

#21

Manziel looks no bigger than Russell Wilson, and without the arm.

No thanks.

Quote:Clearly why Jamarcus Russell was such a dominant NFL QB. His exposure to the SEC.

Guys like Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, RGIII, Colin Kaepernick will never make it due to their lack of SEC conference play in college.

And Jamarcus was the only one of those QBs selected first overall.  Go figure.

The only two SEC QBs who turned out to be franchise QBs in the last 20 years are Peyton and Eli Manning.

If Mariota comes out in 2014 he will be an Eagle...

You're right.  The Dolphins were pretty dumb to pass up on Matt Ryan and draft Jake Long who isn't even with the team now.  A lot of their troubles over the last couple of years would have been alleviated with a good starting QB like Matt Ryan.

If the Jaguars had drafted Joe Flacco over Derrick Harvey... this team would be in a lot better shape.  And I"m sure that a lot of teams are cursing themselves for not grabbing Aaron Rodgers.

And another good point is that teams that picked up Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick had good QB situations to begin with.  They could afford to take the long shot, and the gamble managed to pay off.  More proof that when you get your QB, you have gotta keep looking for the next one.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Couldn't agree more.

I agree. Drafting overrated Pac 12 and SEC QBs first overall is a terrible idea.
