But the wife wants to make a change. So we(she) picks out about 2 dozen samples from the wall at the Sheraton William store. I was tasked to help narrow it down? I like the one that is on the wall. I’m told I’m not helping and don’t give a crap. No, I don’t actually. So I eliminate about half of her choices. She gets a few pint sized “samples”. We paint decent samples on the wall. I’ve got the same lighting in every room. And in each room, these colors look completely different. How can one color look white in one room and suede in another? I’ll say this, I’ve got LED daylight bulbs throughout the house. Blackout curtains throughout. When painting a decent swath of paint, there should be very little variables. We painted a room a grey color that looks to be blue at times and almost purple at others. My house has been set up that the fixtures all have the same lighting and we can “black out” it’ll we want. Obviously, there is some sort of light imbalance. Where??? Idk!!! I just know it should not be normal for a white to look suede or even “rose gold” when I’ve controlled all other variables. It’s frustrating, irritating, and most importantly of all, I can’t agree with the wife. The color we have is amazing. I don’t understand the want to spend so much money on something we can do ourselves. But, we’ll have a color painted on the wall that we have no clue what it’ll be.She bought more samples. Yay! (Eyeroll). She tells me that she read an article about one of the particular colors. How it shows one colors upon north facing light and another in south facing light. What the actual [BLEEP]??? Apparently a northern light affect the southern view and vis versa? [BLEEP] me. Can’t we just paint the wall gray, white, brown, purple…? I just want the shot to look the way it looks. |
