You know this man will give it hell. No matter the side of the isle you are on there is no denying the toughness of this man. I wish him a speedy recovery however daunting a challenge that may be.

No matter what side of the aisle you are on, you cannot deny that John McCain is a true patriot who has given almost everything in the service of his country.

When this first broke a couple of days ago a commenter on News4Jax wished he had died long ago and immediately garnered 6 up votes. The political rancor in this country is appalling.

My father is a 5 year survivor of Glioblastoma. He is in the 10% and VERY lucky. The treatment McCain is about to go through at his age is going to be a nightmare. I hope he is one of the lucky ones.

The one positive about this is it might finally bring awareness to Glioblastoma as something "different" than "brain cancer". I feel like they are close to a major break through with immunotherapy trials, but I hope this brings additional funding to research.

Fight the good fight Johnny!

This surprises me absolutely zero. The anonymity of the internet sure makes for a lot of tough guys don't it?

McCain went through way too much and overcame it to have this happen to him. It's not right.

Trump was probably one of them.  After all, he doesn't respect veterans that were captured.

I'm sure you were one of the people who were up in arms about POTUS memo about McCain not being "heart felt" enough, huh?

While I don't care much for John McCain's politics, I do have the utmost respect for him as a veteran and former POW.  Hopefully he's able to beat this.

Typical of the left to turn everything, including the grave illness of a true patriot, into an anti-Trump rant.

Not a rant, just a reminder

I've not been a fan of McCain's for a long time because his politics are as wishy washy as it gets. He was arguably one of the weakest presidential candidates to win a nomination in my lifetime. He ran an entire campaign in fear, and the end result was he got thumped.

That being said, I wouldn't wish what he's been diagnosed with on my own worst enemies. I watched my father in law fight this for a year before it finally took him, and it's an utterly brutal, painful way to die. From the sounds of it, he's got a particularly aggressive form of the disease, just as my father in law did.

I do enjoy how our resident socialists/democrats feel the need to turn everything back on Trump. He's living rent free in their heads right now. The president issued a heartfelt statement on McCain. He's capable of separating politics from the personal. It's a shame others can't do the same.

There's a special place in hell waiting for John McCain. It's likely a private office down the hall from the Boss, with plenty of everlasting perks for one of the greatest enemies of America in modern history.

Seriously?

I didn't agree with him politically, especially in his later years when he went full on blame-America, but he did what he thought was right, wasn't behind most of the recent ruinous political decisions (I know for sure he voted against Obamacare), and he remains a fiscal conservative up until now.

Most of all, he really was a war hero.

McCain is a war hero? Probably the reason we haven't won a war in 72 years. Charlie gave Songbird McCain 2 hookers and 3 square meals a day while the other POWs ate rat poop.

He's one of 3 Republicans who I respect and think he hasn't lost all is credibility.

Trump called McCain a "Fake POW".

Not surprising a lot of the Trumpalites on here hate McCain's politics because he was one of the few republicans to call out Trump
