So many times I read or hear a post-victory interview, where a player says something about how the winning drive was easier than a normal practice. Or a soldier comes out of combat and talks about how it was just like a drill. I remember that from the Gulf War in the early 90s- soldiers would talk about how it was easier than their drills.

If a coach can make the practices more pressure packed and more competitive than the games themselves, that'll probably produce a winning team.
