Vikings LT Jake Long went down in the final minute of the Redskins win over the Vikings.   This very likely is what led to today's transaction.  My guess is the Jaguars will fill their P.S. spot opening in the next couple of days:

  I don't recall anything regarding Rashod Hill.  The Vikings must see some potential to sign him off another NFL P.S.  They are in a desperate situation at LT.

 Jake Long,  who is probably is in the twilight of his NFL playing career,  suffered a season ending Achilles injury.   Unfortunately,  injuries have plagued him over the years.

  It seems like more Offensive Lineman get signed off other teams Practice Squads than players at any other position unit.  

 

   It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Jaguars add another Tackle to their P.S. in the near future.

  Rashod Hill might have become depth at Tackle for the Jaguars and maybe even more than that.   But at the very least,  teams need to have options in case of injuries.  Not to mention future possibilities because contracts expire and in some cases it's not economically efficient to keep one or more players.

We will never know what could have happened if Rashod Hill stayed in Jacksonville, but one thing is clear: the Jaguars need to draft an OL next year.
