Jags 2017 draft picks

#1

Here is what Jags 2017 draft should be:

1.  LT

2.  G

3.  RT

4.  C

5.  G

6.  G

7.  RT

So sick of this patched up line giving up league high sacks year after year after year and getting demolished in the run game.  Fix this line to slightly above average and I can coach this team to a playoff contender.

I have to imagine OL is the top priority this year. Followed by pass rush (again) and LB
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

we only need a guard and right tackle

everything else can be fixed with a quarterback who doesnt suck and wont take sacks and better scheme/coaching.

Beachum is good at LT. We need a LG. Center is locked. RG is locked. We need a RT. Our currents could provide decent depth. QB is the main concern on offense right now.

Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

You're giving Linder and Beachum no cred whatsoever.

And that's not fair.

There is definitely a draft forum for this thread, but I generally disagree with the premise.

There is good depth in this draft at other positions and they should be addressed as well.

I'd like to see two offensive linemen drafted between the 2nd and 5th rounds, but I'm not sold on one early in the first and I don't advocate taking more than three between the 2nd and 7th.  You'd pass up quality help at other needed positions.

Free agency could yield some good help as well.  There are a large number of tackles hitting FA and a few quality guards.

Some FA linemen I'd like to see considered by the Jags:

Guard: Kevin Zeitler

Andre Smith, Mike Remmers and Ryan Schraeder are all likely upgrades at RT and could be on the market.

I'm not so keen on taking o-line in the 1st round. Seems lately teams can find them in the 3rd -6th rounds and be fine

My idea of a solid draft would be a RT/LG/CB/LB/QB/DE in any order rounds 1-6. We could use cheap CB depth, House is a big cap hit to be a rotational #4 on the depth chart.

LOL .... didn't Gene Smith sure up the defensive line when he went DL with the 1st 4 picks of the 2009 draft?

DT - alualu

DT - d'anthony thomas

DE - larry hart

DE - austin lane

There isn't a LT worthy of a top 5 pick this year.

Agreed

Looking more and more like Beachum will be the teams best option

Let's just take every QB in every draft so we can prevent other teams from getting them.

Heck, if we used that strategy we'd Russell WIlson, Jimmy Garrapalo, and Derek Carr on this team.

Parnell was really good last year. Just like AR15, Hurns, BB....

We need a new coaching staff. You can't be that good and then really bad in one offseason.

There are good CB prospects projected in the second and third rounds currently.  I like Gareon Conley in the third.

Draft a RT and C. Put Linder back at RG. Cann back to LG and sign/draft a back up to push Cann cause he's kinda not good.

If he can get back healthy, I think Bo would be solid C depth

I don't think our offensive lineman are all that bad. Parnell seems to be the biggest weak link right now on the right side but you won't see this team drafting a right tackle in the top five. If I had to guess how this draft plays out, depending on the next coaching staff that comes in and/or general manager. I am thinking (Only doing the first three rounds).

1. Myles Garrett - DE - Texas A&M or Jonathan Allen - DE/DT - Alabama

Dark Horse: Deshone Kizer - QB - Notre Dame or Leonard Fournette - LSU

2. Deshaun Watson - QB - Clemson or Ethan Pocic - C - LSU

Dark Horse: Roderick Johnson - OT - FSU or Raekwon McMillian - ILB - OSU

3. Jake Butt - TE - Michigan or Curtis Samuel - RB/WR - OSU

Dark Horse: Chad Kelly - QB - Ole Miss or Mason Cole - C - Michigan
