Jags defense isn't that good either.

every game, every week my dad points this out to me. how many times have other teams gotton a first down on jags when it was 3rd down. accoring to my dad its just about every 3rd down.  you have to get off the field on defense as well as keeping offensse on the field. 3rd&16 ,and you have 2coned string rb run for 18yds,and a first down. oh that was on what down to 3rd down. has anyone else noticed the 3rd down probloms for the defense.

Our defense sucks on 3rd down and at creating turnovers. Nothing shocking.

I said it in offseason and everyone killed me for it. Pass Rush is terrible, Dave needed to do a better job.

We just held a team with Hopkins to under 100 passing yards.

3rd downs are a problem, but this defense is a lot better than the past couple years.

No it's not "good" but your dad isn't a "football genius" either

You give up a 20 yard rush on 3rd and 17 you are a bad defense period.

Not to mention the extreme lack of turnovers.

Our dbs can't even touch a football thrown by the other team.

We don't force fumbles, don't get sacks and don't get off the field.

We need a new coach that brings a better scheme. The seahawks experiment has failed.

We're 10th in the league, making our opponents punt 4.8 times per game. We aren't too bad at getting off the field.

If this defense was paired with what so many people thought our offense was going to be, we would be leading the division easily.

We were supposed to be the Seahawks but our ship has been captained towards the Browns.

We let a RB pulled from the practice squad get a first down on 3rd and 17.

True, but it's still less than he had against even Denver.

The D is potentially good but rough around the edges - not disciplined in assignment integrity, and the loss of Roy Miller is significant. The run D has gone down hill since his departure. They can defend the pass, credit to the DBs who are playing well. Sadly, they are getting pushed around up front.

What a better scheme you say?

Seriously though how about adapting to some player strengths and stop running vanilla crap that opposing coaches can beat with a journey QB, Backups and street free agents.  We are getting into some crazy statistical improbabilities with our weekly play.

On the bright side at least the Cowboys aren't on the schedule, Elliot would have to have an oxygen tent on the sidelines to help him recover from all the yards or miles he would gain

Did anyone watch Dan Skuta run right into Jalen Ramsey on the first touchdown? Jalen had his eyes on the TE the whole way and superstar just runs into him.

It's not an aggressive enough.

Nope.

Not enough press and bump and run and very vanilla in nature. Too much zone, "give them the underneath" stuff. The players are being coached to play passive. Let him catch the ball but make the tackle, hopefully short of the first down. How about attacking the ball before it gets to the player? That's how you get turnovers.

We could use another corner and pass rush seems to be something we can't seem to ever achieve. We aren't the 2012 Jaguars, by any stretch. We have the worst coaching staff in NFL history, I expect the players to not play well/be prepared.

Actually I thought Ramsey ran more into Skuta tbh

If at the beginning of the year your expectations were to make the playoffs and you go into the season with two rookie defensive ends, that's a gm misstep. But if the offense was competent the defense would be better. They get no support and are always getting a game plan dictated to them because they're always playing from behind. Once I would like to see them have a 14 point lead or something like that and see what's up.
