NFL Network to air Cowboys-Texans preseason game

Thursday's preseason game between the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans from AT&T Stadium will be shown live on NFL Network at 8 p.m. ET.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

They just wanted to get home to their families, they can't play football right now. They spent training camp in Greenbrier West Virginia, pretty much outside of our one home preseason game they have been away from their family and children, which is a long time. A lot of the players/coaches have also had their houses flooded and their families placed in shelters too. As soon as they heard a route cleared, they decided to just scrap the game and come back home, don't blame them at all. They're on a bus headed back as we speak.

The Texans said in a statement that they will drive home on Wednesday after finding a safe travel route.

"At this time, the priority of our organization is getting our players, coaches and staff back home to be reunited with their families, many of whom have been evacuated from their homes and are currently sheltered. The team feels it is imperative to get back home to help the Houston community recover from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey," the team said.

It had nothing to do with the location of training camp. Players and coaches were worried about their families, friends, and community. They want to help people who are affected by the hurricane with their time, not just their money. I don't think anyone really wanted to practice for a meaningless game while thinking about the effects of a natural disaster in their area. The only thing keeping them out of Houston was the lack of a safe route home. Now that they have it, there is no reason to play a meaningless game.
