Game Balls Week 1

#1

What a great game this was! I have a few game balls to give out today:

Calais Cambell-set the franchise record for sacks in a game, his first game ever as a jag!

Cam Robinson-stymied Watt/Clowney/Merculis, didn't hear his name called once.

Leonard Fournette-bell cow back of the future, and the future is now.

The entire Jags D-if I had to give out game balls to the playmakers on defense this list would be 10 more players long. Fantastic game and play calling by Wash.

Good stuff! We didn't hear Robinson's name because of a bad play once today...Good for the rookie!

Campbell clearly looking for a vacation in Jacksonville. He seems to have found it comfortably behind the Texans O-Line.

Always a good thing to not hear offensive linemen's name. Usually means you missed a block or caused a penalty.
No pain, no gain.

Kudos to Robinson. He has a history of false starts and showed great poise against the #1 D in the league and home fans jacked to the limit. Really impressive for a first game. Good first game for Fournette too. He got hard yards when they knew he was a coming.

Campbell is on pace for a 64 sack season. He gets my game ball for today.

The entire D-Line was crashing the pocket every play. Individual stats are only possible if the guys around you are doing their job. That being said.. Campbell looks like the best free agent acquisition in ages. Barry Church was also in position to get an INT and had good support in the run game. Bouye seemed to be outmatched but Hopkins as he is more of a technical and trail corner while Ramsey is more of a physical style which Hopkins struggles mightily with.

May as well throw in the game duds as well.

Myers had a missed extra point and a missed 37 yard field goal. The missed field goal wasn't even remotely close. He bounced back to hit his last attempt of the day. Still worrying.

Nortman crushed one punt then it looked like he was pooching it the other times. Maybe it was intended as to not give up a punt return not sure?

Lee drew some interference calls and one big one that wasn't called. Other then that Hurns and Robinson each had a 1st down converting catch. Dropped passes plagued the passing game today. Fortunately we didn't need it. Easily correctable mistakes, hopefully we can continue to be physical and Bortles can have some time to do something with it.
No pain, no gain.
