How things were the last time the Jaguars had a winning season

#1

I saw this posted on BCC and figured it was a good read so I would post it here. Full credit to them and the poster EightballCNU.

Things going on back in 2007 when the Jaguars last had a winning season:

  • LeBron James had yet to win a single NBA Finals game let alone take his talents down to South Beach
  • Barack Obama had just announced his candidacy for President of the United States that May.
  • Gus Bradley was just in second year in the NFL as a linebacker’s coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Jalen Ramsey was a seventh grader.
  • Kanye West just dropped his Graduation album and had yet to go full born crazy Kanye.
  • The 1st version of the iPhone was released months before the season began.
  • Tim Tebow was a Florida Gator.
  • The Sopranos aired their last episode three months prior to start of the season.
  • Mad Men had begun their first season and people had yet to learn how boring the show was.
  • Jonah Hill starred in Superbad.
  • Crank That (Soulja Boy) was still near the top of music charts.
  • Michael Vick’s dog fighting investigation had just occurred during the offseason.
  • Brittney spears was still mid melt down and rocking that terrible wig.
  • Kim Kardashian’s sex tape was released February of that season.

If this doesn't put it all in perspective, I don't know what will.

Ramsey being a 7th grader really hit me on this one. Man it seems like that was truly the last good year, most of everything on this list contributed negatively to the world we live in today.

I almost corrected you and said everything on that list contributed negatively to the world we live in today, but Gus Bradley has actually done quite well... even though it's with another team.

so Michael Vick went to prison came back and played in the NFL again and we didn't have one winning season after all that? It's been long, too long.

Mike Vick Went to prison, came back and won MVP while almost taking the Eagles to another Super Bowl .. We have gone through 5 Starting QB's since then (Garrard, McCown, Gabbert, Henne, Bortles)

If it makes you guys feel better, the Rams, Raiders, Browns and Bills all have longer playoff droughts than we do. Also, if you go by playoff wins, you can add the Lions and Bengals, maybe another team, I really don't feel like researching it.

Mad Men is a fantastic show, so this list is somehow invalidated.
