Chiefs are 8th in NFL giving up only 19.6 ppg.

I say Jags score 24.

The question is can the Jags D hold them under 28 ppg (what they average given up) even with their 3rd string RB Charchandrick West starting. Chiefs average 23.7 ppg.

20 - 3 Chiefs at half.

27 -10 Chiefs end of 3rd qtr.

30 - 24 Chiefs at end of game.

The real problem is the Jaguars D can't hold the opponent UNDER their scoring average.

Green Bay averages 23.7 ppg- scored 27 on Jags - LOSS    -3.3

San Diego averages 28.1 ppg- scored 38 on Jags - LOSS    -9.9

Baltimore averages 19.0 ppg- scored 19 on Jags - LOSS      EVEN

Indianapolis averages 26.0 ppg- scored 27 on Jags - WIN  -1.0

Chicago averages 16.4 ppg- scored 16 on Jags - WIN    +0.4

Oakland averages 26.9 ppg- scored 33 on Jags - LOSS    -6.1

Tennessee averages 22.8 ppg- scored 36 on Jags - LOSS   -13.2

If the Jags hold opponents within 1 ppg of their scoring average, they typically win. The exception was Baltimore where Jason Myers missed a FG.

Jags must hold KC to 24 points or less to win. They average 23.7 ppg.

spacecoast to hijack another thread.

Edit:  This is not a good defense and environment for an offense to get their footing.  This good be some tough sledding.  Hopefully Blake is able to find some accuracy.

Another inaccurate post. Actually KC is a very good defense. They are #8 in scoring defense in 2016, was #3 in scoring defense in 2015, was #2 in scoring defense in 2014, and #5 scoring defense in 2013.

That's what GOOD teams do. It honestly has nothing to do with Bortles or Alex Smith. Alex Smith is a bad QB. Andy Reid is just a hell of a lot better coach than Mr. #26 scoring defense Gus Bradley.

Even with a backup QB and RB the Chiefs still win. Team will be woefully unprepared and make Chiefs fans think their backup could be a starter

Alex Smith would torch this defense

They could especially if the chefs score over 40. The typical 14+ point 4th quarter for Bortles when game is out of reach.

You misread his post in what might be seen as an overzealous attempt to contradict him

KC- 48

JAX- 17

We go down 14 early and abandon run game which leads to a pair of pick sixes. Chiefs easily rise to 6-2

Nortman beats his league-leading 78 yard punt with a 79 yard punt.

Chiefs drive 99 yards and score.

Bold Predictions:

-Myers finally misses a kick (man, that guy got the brunt of criticism last season for losses, rightfully so; but he is having a good seson so far, it's just completely overshadowed by ineptness everywhere else)

-spacecoastjag's head explodes if the Jags are inept for 3 1/2 qtrs (both offense and defense), are down 27-3 or something, Bortles ends up with 300yds 3TD in the last 1 1/2 qtr, and no one but himself blames it all on the defense.

We might be able to reach 28 points if garbage time comes extra early, like mid way through the 1st quarter down 28-0. It is entirely possible.
