Matt Miller board with Draft Utopia team needs on difficulty. One of the more realistic ones yet. Didnt really want to go with 2 TEs but the value with Hurst in the 4th was to good to pass up. Hurst and Goedert will be our 2 TE of the future. Linder moves back to RG with Ragnow at C, and Gallup a really good different type of WR we dont have (in the Blackmon mold) to add to our WR corps.

2) Wyatt Teller G -Virginia tech - Big mauling guard who's been one of the most efficient pass blocking guards in the country. Played 39 games for V-Tech. Nasty. Day 1 starter next year.

3) Jaylen Samuels -  RB/TE/WR - NC State - Favourite prospect in the draft this year. 5'11 230. Legitimately can play several positions on offense. Great hands and route runner. Loads of rushing touchdowns. Plays in the slot, out of the backfield as a receiver. Also runs outside routes. Touchdown machine and has been the key cog for NC State. He's perfect as a backup running back, starting slot/TE. Basically Delanie Walker mixed with Kyle Juszczyk. Elite.

4) Allen Lazard WR - Iowa state - 6-5 big bodied possession receiver. Not the fastest but has extremely strong hands and is one of the best contested catch guys in college. Might struggle to get him here but the WR class is very deep.

6) Jalen Davis S/CB - Utah state - Nickelback. Big time playmaker with 3 TDs this year. Strong tackler. Can double at safety. Very similar to Xavier Woods and that San Diego state CB from last year Lazee.

7) Tyler Tezeno - G - Sam Houston - Small schools guard. 6'5 320 and surprisingly agile. Blocked for a screen heavy offense so he's good on the move.

Yes please.

Haven't watched much of Wyatt Teller but I'm pretty sure most of this draft would contribute a ton as rookies.

I choose to believe that "Wyatt Teller" is a long lost blood relative of the Sons of Anarchy and will bring the level of football play on the team to a whole new, unimagined level.

Works fine with me. Definitely been much worse logic used to justify a pick.

I went and did two.
Using the DRAFTPLEX board and Fanspeak needs on difficult.
The first is a scenario where the team tries out someone not named Bortles at QB, basically cuz it just fell that way since I didn't reach for the QB position and it went hot and heavy in round 1 and 2. By the time we selected in the 3rd the best available QB was Falk and Barrett.
29: R1P29
TE MARK ANDREWS
OKLAHOMA
Best TE prospect by many. The hype is big with this guy.

61: R2P29
C JAMES DANIELS
IOWA
Best interior OL guy on the board. Linder can slide to RG.

93: R3P29
WR MARCELL ATEMAN
OKLAHOMA STATE
Big Target WR, perhaps we let AR15 walk and sign Lee to a reasonable deal. Either way, insurance at the position.

131: R4P29
CB DUKE DAWSON
FLORIDA
I think getting Dawson as Colvin's replacement at this point in the draft is a bit of a steal

206: R6P29
S KAMERON KELLY
SAN DIEGO STATE
Depth and competition at possibly the "weak link" of our defense.

230: R7P12
LB GARRET DOOLEY
WISCONSIN
Depth/PS

247: R7P29
OT TOBY WEATHERSBY
LSU
Depth/PS

Then a did a second.
The same boards and needs. This one is with the thought that we NEED some sort of QB to compete/push Bortles round 3 or earlier. So according to their board I reached a bit for QB but so did another team earlier. But imo, he's a 3rd round prospect.

1: R1P29
C BILLY PRICE
OHIO STATE
Can play C/G, allowing for flexibility with Linder, Omameh, Cann...

2: R2P29
TE DALLAS GOEDERT
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
Not sure he makes it here but the value was too good to pass on.

3: R3P29
QB RILEY FERGUSON
MEMPHIS
They had him ranked a little lower than this spot. I think it's about right, perhaps he goes higher in round 3, And in my previous go, he was gone by now selected earlier in this round.

4: R4P29
CB DUKE DAWSON
FLORIDA
No matter what I do, this guy is always here. Love the value

5: R6P29
P JOHNNY TOWNSEND
FLORIDA
Nort out, Townsend in.

6: R7P12
RB JOHN KELLY
TENNESSEE
Surprised to see Kelly here. Thought he was beasting at UT. 4nette, Yeldon, Grant, and Kelly (perhaps Kelly is a wasted pick seeing as we may have to keep one inactive. But until 4nette can stay healthy for 16 I say load up.

7: R7P29
DL CONOR SHEEHY
WISCONSIN
Depth.

I like the way you focus on one thing and make sure you fix it!

I would be very amazed if that Penn State TE is still there at the end of the 3rd round.   I've seen him play.

I was very tempted to go Mark Andrews at 29, but then I saw Brown and I could not resist.

That pick was not an indictment of Parnell.

He played great football for us in 2017.

At that point, I really liked Brown, and Parnell is 32.

Love this draft and a huge upgrade on the interior of the oline and TE positions. As much as I want Hurns we cut him and use that money to resign Colvin on a front loaded deal and bring back A Rob. The coaching staff will make the decision on the QB. I know JackCity will like this draft. We get a great punter for for present and the future and also save 2.25 mil. Most likely our 7th rounder wont even make the team so I hope we get Townsend or Scott from Texas to save the 2.25 cap space and still have a really good punter. Samuels will take Ivory's spot on the roster plus get reps at TE and Miller could be the steal of the draft in the 3rd and potential to be the best WR in this class. I think every player in this draft makes the 53 Thoughts?

No I just think you can get good punters as free agents every year. I'd probably never spend draft capital on a specialist.

My thing though is if you get a good punter in FA you will at least pay what we did for Nortman.  I would just rather use a 7th and have that cap space for the next 4 years.  We would be saving close to a couple mil in cap space the next few years and that 7th round pick likely wont make the roster with as deep as our team is now

Nah I'd go the UDFA route or just pick up a free agent on the cheap. Plenty of punters good enough around.
