This is at least somewhat realistic, and would be epic.

Trade 1.29 to Denver for 2.08 and 3.07

Every need filled!

That would be AMAZING. Could Will Hernandez fall to early 3rd? Not that crazy I guess, but unlikely probably. I would also love for a QB to actually sit for a full year like Lamar would in this scenario a la Pat Mahomes. I'm not 100% set on Lamar, but I'm not 100% on any prospect really, so taking a swing with Lamar is fine by me

Seems unlikely now, but none of us know what will happen. I recall a similar thing about Dan Feeney last year with a lot of us suggesting he might be a good pick at the top of the second, and he dropped to the third...

As for Lamar, I agree that we might be a good place for him. He doesn't need to play immediately, and should have plenty of time to develop. I won't pretend to be an expert on these things, but his skill set sure is interesting. Obviously there are considerable negatives linked to that too.

Went for a slightly different spin on things to just to see what it would look like.

Round 1 : Will Hernandez G
Monster run blocker. Perfect blend of need/fit/style/talent. Pretty nasty finisher.

Round 2: Frank Ragnow G/C
Linder clone. Really good run blocker and well regarded as a pass blocker too. Leader with brains. You can play him center and move Linder or play Ragnow guard.. whichever works best.

Round 3: Kyle Lauletta QB
Intangible wise he's "perfect" as a QB..all the leadership traits and moxie you could want. 6'3 220 and mobile. Most importantly he understands the game very well and is a very cerebral QB. Accurate and has some of best anticipation in the class. Arm is a ? at the moment. I think it's good enough but as Deacon pointed out there is also a fair amount of evidence to the contrary. Can start and keep the offense in rhythm if needs be.

Round 4: Jaylen Samuels RB/WR/TE
Versatile weapon to attack defenses with. Competent running back and elite receiving option. You can split him out wide and attack linebackers if you wish. Dream player for an OC. You can run TE routes with him too

Round 5: Darius Philips CB (Trade up from 6)
One of the best playmaking cornerbacks we've seen at the college level. 12 total TDs. 4 on defense. 4 as a returner and 2 as a receiver. Has ball skills like a WR (because he was one). Needs to tackle with more gusto but otherwise perfect as a slot.

Round 7: Cam Serigne TE Wake Forest
Highly productive H-Back/TE type for wake at 6'3 250. Adept finding soft zones and plays the "QBs best friend" role well. Good enough at blocking to put him on the edge occasionally if needs be. Him and Samuels can play several different roles and let you do so many different things. Steal at 7 imo.

Slightly different mock up but one that hits everything we need and more.

The thoughts of a Cam-Hernandez-Ragnow-Linder line for the next 3/4 years is tantalising and would maximise Fournettes value.

Got our backup/competition QB.

Got our slot. (He probably goes round 4 but whatever.

Didn't get an outright TE but Samuels and Serigne can run all the routes TEs can (and some more) while also being able to moonlight as blockers. Figured we pick one up in FA and JamesOS/Koyack step up.

I noticed you have 32 players on offense and 27 of defense, so you have some chopping to do. Defenively cut two of those 12 DLs. Offensively, cut at least 3 WRs, a FB, 2 OLs, and then you still need one more hard cut somewhere on the roster.

I think this is my favorite so far, even though the First Round didn't quite turn out like I thought it would.

29: R1 P29, DL DA'RON PAYNE, ALABAMA

Too much talent to pass up. Payne is a dyed-in-the-wool Nose and I think he either pushes Abry Jones to better heights or off the roster.

61: R2 P29, OT MARTINAS RANKIN, MISSISSIPPI STATE

I don't expect Rankin to play OT, but rather the interior. He's a swing guy that has five position utility.

93: R3 P29, TE MIKE GESICKI, PENN STATE

This seems about right for where to pick him.

129: R4 P29, LB DARIUS LEONARD, SOUTH CAROLINA STATE

Small school guy with all the tools and measureables you would want. Start him out on 'Teams and let him work his way onto the field.

203: R6 P29, QB MIKE WHITE, WESTERN KENTUCKY

A good spot to draft him. Although I don't like the fumblitis.

230: R7 P12, WR JESTER WEAH, PITTSBURGH

Speedster!

247: R7 P29, CB ADONIS ALEXANDER, VIRGINIA TECH
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Granted Payne represents great value at the pick, but I really don't see us going DT early.

That's the one position I bet doesn't get drafted in the first 5 rounds. No reason to draft a DT this year. Jackson, Jones, Dareus, Ankou, Bennett... We set.

I really like Allen at 29. He will have time to develop and how often can you find a talent at q.b. like this with pick 29? I still expect him to go top 5. My only criticism is taking 2 tight ends in rounds 2 and 3. Yes, Hurst provides great value in the 3rd, but this team needs an offensive lineman to come in and start immediately. The best scenerio, in my opinion, would be if you got the lineman in round 2 and got Hurst in the 3rd. My guess is there were probably some linemen there for you in the 2nd like Ragnow, Daniels, Crosby or Braden Smith.

There are free agent options at G. Having both Andrews and Hurst would set us up for years at TE.
