Bortles is driving me nuts.

He seemed to play just fine with Fournette during the Hawks game

First: That's not a problem.

Second: There's no direct connection between Bortles improved performance and Leonard Fournette.

It stands to reason that a healthy Fournette, offensive line and improved Bortles all playing together will only be better than what we've seen thus far.

I don't understand how this is a 'problem'.

By the way, Fournette played against the Colts and Seahawks.  So your logic ain't super sound.

^ while that is technically true,, keep in  mind those 3 opponents:
Colts (first game /defense dominated)
Bengals (defense dominated)
Texans (defense dominated)

The Jags need LF. Look at how well that worked out against Seattle (BB and LF looked good).

The Seahawks game Bortles played well but was not top 4. His best 4 games were the 2 Indy games, CIncy, and Houston based on total QBR.

Do you actually believe that Blake Bortles won't play as well whenever Fournette is playing?

Coincidence that those teams have some of the worst pass defenses in the league?

Almost like.. the defense he's throwing against, matters more than the RB in the backfield

Yea and total QBR also has Mariota having a better season than Rivers. You can take it with a grant of salt. If you watched the games and understood the dynamics then you would know that because of the situation the Seatle gane was top 3 of his career. The guy is just graspong at straws to tey and defend his initial statement. I dont think, or at least dont hope, that he believes truly Bortles success is based on Fournette's availability.

That would be way too logical of an explanation.

Some people on this board were ready to sign him to an extension last week. Games like this, are why that is a dumb idea. As I said, let him play on the current deal through 2018, use a high draft pick on a young QB and see how things play out in 2018.

Bad time of year for a game like this one. I sure hope blake doesnt have doubts or lack of confidence heading into the playoffs. The niners secondary isnt even their strength on defense. Brings back that question of do you guys trust bortles , he's much improved this season but then after this game you have to wonder. .

I'm telling you, the perfect QB for this team is Baker Mayfield.

Draft Mayfield with our late 1st round pick and let him compete with Blake in 2018.

Mayfield has the perfect attitude for this team. Ramsey already talked about how he loves the guy on his show with Marqise Lee and Joe Klatt.

Mayfield has a great arm and great accuracy, and can scramble.

Agreed on everything Mayfield but he won't be there when we pick. Have to trade up to the top 10 if we want.
