Good article breaking down the chances of each seed progressing. We're probably in the playoffs regardless but these 3 games are still incredibly important.

No, that's a terrible article by someone who knows nothing about statistics and who is very proud of their new found ability to work out percentages.

Is the maths wrong in it? Nothing ground breaking just hadn't seen the %s before.

It doesn't control for any other factors, and makes some crazy claims about what those percentages mean (if you follow their logic, then it is impossible for a fifth seed to make it to the Superbowl and then lose...)

Here is why seeding is important. We either go to Foxborough or they come here. As it is now we would play the Pats if we made it passed the first round of playoffs. If we get the 2 seed and the Pats make it passed the first round then they would come to Jax. I hope the latter is the case.

The odds of making the Super Bowl go up ten-fold if you get a first round bye and can sit at home. I'd much rather get a first round bye and have New England host Buffalo or something then have to go to Jacksonville instead of us having to play and then go to Foxborough. Screw that.
No pain, no gain.
