I found this amusing in the just-released report by BleacherReport on the 5 worst NFL players at each position:
“At one point in time, Julius Thomas was in the conversation for being one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the NFL, especially in the red zone. But since Thomas left Denver, he hasn't been able to replicate the success he had with Peyton Manning. Over the past three seasons, he's averaged under 10 yards per catch and has a total of just 12 touchdowns. He's one of the worst run-blocking tight ends in the league and a major liability in the Dolphins' passing attacks. Thomas could be out of a job sooner rather than later. [/list]” Dolphin fans were super excited to steal this guy from the Jaguars. Now he’s ranked as the 5th worst TE in the league, and probably on his way out!

Dan Hicken raved about Julius Thomas. I kept saying to myself...he's just a product of Peyton Manning. And he can't block a toilet seat.
It amazes me that teams don't understand this when they spend millions of dollars on free agents who are products of other players...mostly Manning, Brady, and Brees. Even Jimmy Graham don't put up the receiving yards he did in New Orleans. Manning made guys like Jacob Tamme look good. |
