When Sam Darnold decided to enter the draft and Ben Roethlisberger announced he will be back in 2018, it really helped our case. Both of those were unexpected to me. Had either one not happened, he wouldn't have made it to our pick.

I don't wanna cut Hurns at all. He's our most dependable receiver he just needs to stay healthy. Having him with our two young guys (Westbrook and Cole), who will be more experienced and a new, big target in Wims, gives us a nice core. Hurns just needs to keep from getting hurt. I believe Poz and Lewis will both be gone.

I would've loved to add a swing tackle prospect as well, but we just didn't have enough picks. I believe we will bring in a couple UDFA OT's to compete for that position, as well as bringing in a RB or two as depth behind Fournette and Grant. I also based my draft upon us re-signing CB Aaron Colvin. Even if we do, I'd expect us to bring in some UDFA CB's for depth.

Thanks.
I see maybe a 2% chance Colvin returns. Can't blame him for taking the money. We disagree some on the wide receivers. Although you didn't mention Robinson by name, he doesn't appear to be a priority to you. I want them to re-sign him as he is the only true number 1 wide receiver on the team. I love Hurns, but he just isn't worth the money he counts against our salary cap. It would be great if he'd agree to less money in a new deal. Finally, I was kind of kidding about Rudolph. I hope you are right about him and that the Jags are able to draft him at the end of round 1.

I hope you're wrong about Colvin. If he leaves, we'd almost certainly have to use a pick on a CB and that would change the look of my draft. Colvin fits perfectly in our Nickle role.

I don't think Robinson is worth what he's gonna be asking for. Unless he wants a 1 year deal, I wouldn't bother. He's been inconsistent and he's coming off a major injury that I don't think he'll be 100% recovered from. A lot of people are expecting him to return to his 2015 form right away and to me, that is totally unrealistic. I believe we have good receivers without him. in fact, I believe Cole and Westbrook both have the abilities to step up and be a #1 receiver. Remember, they were both rookies this year. I expect much more from them next season. Add in an improved Offensive interior, a major upgrade at TE, as well as true competition at QB and I believe our passing game will be much improved in 2018.

A lot of factors went into Rudolph falling to our pick. We still have to worry about some team trading up ahead of us, but I'm hearing the Broncos are ready to throw a big offer at Cousins while Buffalo would be an ideal landing spot for Alex Smith and supposedly, they feel the same way, from what I've been reading. The one major hurdle could be Arizona. I've talked to some of their fans though and they seem convinced they will be taking a CB in round 1. Add that to the fact they hired Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator as head coach and he's used to a very mobile QB like Cam Newton, I just see the Cards and Lamar Jackson being a solid fit in round 2. He'd have to sit behind a veteran and bulk up while learning the pro game and that is where the Eli manning trade comes in. This is all speculation though. With my luck, I'll be wrong on everything in free agency and have to start from scratch.  Cry
