The last two times the Florida Legislature was scheduled to vote on liberalizing Florida gun laws, a mass shooting happened in Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's district and the vote was cancelled. When the vote was scheduled to allow open carry in Florida in January of 2017, the Fort Lauderdale Airport shooting happened. Last Wednesday, the Legislature was scheduled to vote on removing the penalty for inadvertently exposing a concealed weapon, among other provisions. That vote was also cancelled.

David Hogg's father Kevin Hogg was on duty at LAX when there was a mass shooting incident in 2013.

It turns out that the United States Secret Service visited Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School 3 weeks ago for a training session. I did not know the Secret Service trained high school students but apparently they do.
