When Florio interviewed Kirk Cousins before the SB I would have said he was dang nearly lobbying him to come to the Jags. He got nearly three different jokes in aboit 4 minutes about Cousins switching to us. It was interesting watching Cousins reaction, I would say hes interested (I mean why wouldnt he be coming from the Redskins).

But I thought it was more revealing how he reacted about the Redskins questions. That team really screwed with him too much, he is gonna have a chip on his shoulder for a while about the redskins GM saying he didn't want to overpay for a guy he wasn't certain was a franchise QB. There is zero chance Cousins would resign with them.

It’s news because it was being bandied about that team was happy with Bortles performance this season and was happy with Bortles playing under the option. Now it appears that isn’t the case.

The silence by the team about the QB position is pretty telling. If there's a question about what you're doing at QB next year and your current QB is facing the option tag or the street and you're truly committed to bringing him back, don't you come out and say as much as a courtesy to him at least? Even if it's just a "we're committed to Blake entering camp as our starter for 2018." That's not even giving away what they're thinking of doing in the draft by saying that.

He may be back next year if the other options in free agency disappear, but the silence at this stage is clearly telling us they're open for business at QB for 2018.

I doubt he'll be considered a "cancer". Everyone knows that's the one position we need improvement from to get back to the championship game. Now that Blake is the guy, hopefully that improvement comes from him.
