He has us taking Dallas Goedert at 29. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

I can't shake the feeling that Goedert just isn't worth a First Round selection, even as late as ours. This is looking more and more like a really deep class and while I acknowledge that this team has needs, I am not a fan of letting top flight talent walk past me. I'd rather take a flyer on Gesicki (sp?) in a later round.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
I really like Goedert, but I agree there seems to be little upside difference between the #1 TE and the #4. I’d feel better locking in Hernandez or a QB at 29 and taking the best TE left in the 2nd

I’d feel better locking in Hernandez or a QB at 29 and taking the best TE left in the 2nd FWIW, the Pro Football Weekly draft preview is out. They give the TE class a C overall. For comparison's sake, they gave last year's TE class an "A," they give this year's G class an "A," and the T class a "B-". I really like Hernandez, but I wonder about the depth of the G class and whether it would be worth it to get a Hurst in round 1 and a G later. If I had to pick now, I'd take Hernandez if he is on the board, then go TE later. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
I like Goedert a lot, but not at #29. I think we could trade back into the 2nd round and still get him. I feel the same way about Hernandez.

Possibly get Goedert and Hernandez.

Hernandez is my pick for #29. Although I'm not sure he'll even last that long.
Gesicki is my favourite TE but he won't make it to our pick in the 2nd. Ideally we get the best combination of interior/TE over the first two rounds. We show less advertisements to registered users. I'm hoping Vander-Esch lasts until our round two pick to replace Poz, and then in round three I'm all over Falk to be our next QB. If necessary, I can even see taking the MLB first and then the TE second, but I'm really hoping to get Andrews or Hurst and I just don't see them falling at least as of yet. I might change my mind with more evidence that they should fall. But as for Goedert, I just don't see it. I see that he can block which is great, but to me he's just Koyack.

I can totally see getting a starting G in the first two rounds, however, I'm not sure the need is as dire as we think considering the likelihood of signing Pugh and Omameh in free agency. With that in mind I tend to think that MLB and CB are bigger draft needs than an OL. Even if Colvin or Patrick Robinson does sign to play the nickel, we can still use the depth at CB. If neither sign we'll need a quality third corner from this draft. As for Gesicki, I love him as a pass catcher and think his blocking critics are overstating his issues, however, their concerns just might be enough to push him to our second round pick. I tend to think he'll actually be there, and I'd be ok with him in round two... I'm still taking Andrews and Hurst over Gesicki tho.

Pugh is very injury prone and Omameh is serviceable but can be easily upgraded. We live and die by our oline with our style so it's absolutely vital we are set there. Very strong interior class means there's no excuse for not upgrading there in the first 2 rounds. And yeah TE wise I'm not too pushed on whether it's Andrews, Gesicki, Goedert and to a lesser degree Hurts. The rest are meh. Just grab one of them. I really feel the defense needs a guy like Poz but younger and faster.

Jack was a beast at MLB, especially as the season wore on and he became more comfortable. I'm not taking his talent off the field to play SLB and 40% of defensive snaps. We can find a 2 down thumper/block stacker in the middle rounds if we desire.

He's the same size of Poz and much more athletic , just doesn't have Poz's rare instincts yet. This is his first year starting. I think he'll pleasantly surprise you this year and get much better in coverage too. Needs to get off blocks better. Couldn't agree more- put 2 road graders beside Linder and let Fournette do his thing. I'm still wondering why we didn't take a TE from last year's strong class.

Not counting the 2 games Telvin missed and the game he got injured in, Poz played on 35% of the defensive snaps. Committing significant resources to 3 linebackers is not a smart team building strategy in today's NFL. We need that nickel corner if Colvin (67% of defensive snaps) leaves.
Hopefully we resign Poz on a one year deal for his last season. Poz had one of his best season last year imo
