Jaguars 1 of 13 Teams present to watch Manziel throw today.

Heck I would sign him as a backup with the opportunity to compete with Blake for the starting position. Even if he doesn't beat Blake out he's an upgrade to Henne.

Obviously if the Jaguars are going to bother sending Personnel to watch him they are considering this option as well. So in that instance I suppose our team as well as a dozen other teams are all high. You can't seriously tell me he would not be an upgrade to Chad Henne.

I was a big fan of Manziel coming out of college and thought he could be a great QB. But even I know he hasn't shown anything to believe this now. I wouldn't argue with them bringing him in as a #3 (don't think we'll keep 3 on the roster though). But I don't think he should be brought in as a #2 behind Blake. We have the draft for this.
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

You can't seriously tell me he WOULD be an upgrade to Henne, unless you can show how he is suddenly trustworthy.

He has had all kinds of substance and behavioral issues.

He rarely, if ever studied his playbook.

Why would you add a character like him to the locker room?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

The Jags were 1 of 13 teams to attend the SDSU pro day, but that doesn't necessarily mean they were all there to see Manziel. He just happened to be there during SDSU pro day.

Can the FO call him on a regular phone or do they need to use the money phone?

That's what I was thinking. Rashaad Penny RB probably. He is really good, and I still think we need a horse behind LF. I remember Caldwell being so down about Manziel (strictly based on football) when he came out saying he had zero upside and is basically a finished product. I'd be pretty shocked if they signed him. I personally loved watching him play in college and would welcome signing him if then FO is ok with it.

It was the University of San Diego, not SDSU. Supposedly their top prospects are two fringe draftable WRs.

Oh yes, I can. I hated Henne and I'd take him over Manziel.

Actually their best prospect is DE/LB Jonathan Peterson. He had 25 Tackles for Loss and 18 sacks last season.

They sound like guys Caldwell would pick up in UDFA.  Just like Cole and Hurns.

I thought the same thing.  ^

RE: Manziel

I really wish the Jags would just go ahead and hire Greg Jones to be the "knucklehead chaperone" of the team.
They can make him an assistant to the RB coach or something officially, but his job would just be to shadow guys like Blackmon, Fowler or Manzeil and straight smack them with a stout backhand anytime they say or do something stupid.

LOL

I hope for the Browns fans' sake that Haslam has stepped away from meddling in football decisions. If you didn't already know Manzier was a clown leading up to the draft, the text message from him during his 1st round slide saying "Let's wreck this league" should have made it abundantly clear.

That being said, late 1st round misses are easier to forgive and overcome than high 1st round misses and they've missed on a ton of high 1st rounders in recent memory so Manzier probably wasn't their worst pick.
