Good lord. That is insane money for a slot receiver. Granted they have the money but awful cap management was why Dorsey was fired in Kansas City.

OBJ is licking his chops now.

I wonder if the browns have an out-clause after three years.

They have tons of cap so I'd imagine it's all off the books in year 2/3. No long term damage but still. They just inflated the receiver market even more.

At this rate they're going to have to change the rules to the salaray cap and pay structure. Eventually this is going to get out of hand.

Most assume revenues, upon which caps are based, will continue to rise.

History says that's not the case, that it will not rise forever. At some point revenue will become stagnant and/or fall.

Attendance was down across the board last year, with only a handful of exceptions/markets. Ditto viewership. Don't think that won't affect revenue as TV contracts and advertising are renewed should this trend continue. Although it's a lag effect, it will be huge if the NFL has to take an ad cut.

So, whether or not the CBA changes - revenues likely will. Right now it would appear to be a cash cow that quite frankly defies logic.

...for a guy that has never had a double digit touchdown season. Unreal to me.

Gross.
Browns seemingly always take one step forward and two back.

Landry is paid the equivalent of Julio Jones with those guarantees

I mean... look at the Dallas Cowboys... they screwed up and now they have to live with the results. The salary cap polices itself.

Not as disgusting as that Sammy Watkins contract. At least Landry has been productive.

I don't get it. That's a huge amount of money for a guy who is basically a possession receiver. That's like #1 WR money. This is just the Browns being the Browns. Who knows, they probably will screw up this draft by taking Josh Allen. If Josh Gordon ever gets his life together, he's gonna want big money, but so far he is completely untrustworthy. I guess their figuring they'll never come a time when he deserves a big contract.

He's gonna end up being the highest paid WR of all time.
