Great! I hope they make him the highest paid defensive player; meanwhile, we've got Yannick, who's twice the pass rusher but bargain drafted in the third round.

I still don't see why they have him standing up instead of with his hand on the ground.

The only reason I wouldn't want the Texans making Clowney the highest paid defensive player is that it would make it even tougher to sign Ramsey and Ngakoue.

Clowney isn't even that good. More name recognition than actual results. Having said that, pay the man!

Because we all know that pro bowlers suck.....
Once he got healthy he was tearing it up.

Yeah, let's just go ahead and stop using the Pro Bowl as a measure of a player's worth forever. Thanks.

The Colts are "optimistic" about Andrew Luck's shoulder injury. The Tinhorns are "optimistic" about a new contract with Clowney... Notice a trend here?

And being ranked 49th out of 1696 players means nothing as well ...amiright?
Fact of the matter is he's tearing it up,just because you dont want it to be true doesnt make it so.

Clowney is finally starting to look like he may become some semblance of the player he was drafted to be.
That's good for tinhorn fans.
He didn't do jack squat against the Jags last year though.
That's not so good for tinhorn fans.

With all the injuries last year the Browns could have beat the Texas.
It's going to be between the Jags and the Texans this season for sure.

The Jaguars are "optimistic" that Bortles (the unnatural passer) won't crater in 2018 season.

Lol and why do you think that? The Texans are not a good team, sure go ahead and talk about the injuries but the last 2 years the Texans have been talking about staying healthy.

Bortles was playing lights out a few years ago now look he's the laughing stock of the league (wrongfully). Stop putting so much trust in 5 games.

The Texans will be 6-10 & in 4th place.

Clowneys best year (last year) was only slightly better than Yannick rookie year. Dudes over hyped.

Reality? How is my vision stunted? Have the Texans not been saying for 2 years now about how they are actually going to be good when all of their guys come back healthy only to lose them again?

I am sorry to be the one to break it to you but the Jacksonville Jaguars are better than the Houston Texans....even when the Texans are fully healthy. Watson might be good or even great but I am not willing to say he's any better than Bortles with 5 games under his belt.

When our team puts out a sad press release like that get back to me. Only being optimistic their #1 overall pick would want a 2nd contract with the team would draft him is straight up pathetic

Bortles has never played lights out.
We have arguably the best QB receiver combo in the NFL along with a now healthy Watt,Merciles and Watson.
We picked up the Honey Badger as well.
You're delusional if you dont think you're in for a fight for the AFC south.

Please refer to your 2017 W-L record.

Anyways, hard to take you remotely serious when you can’t even spell a players name right from that so called vaunted defense that you drool over.

You mean the season where we lost all our star players to injury other than Clowney and Dhop?

Hasn't that happened a few times? I never said the AFC South wouldn't be a fight....I just don't think it will be a fight with the Texans. They are basing their entire position on a guy who's played a handful of games and several guys who can't stay healthy.
