Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is set to play the 2018 season under a fifth-year option. Texans GM Brian Gaine said recently he's optimistic that both parties will ink a new contract.

Great! I hope they make him the highest paid defensive player; meanwhile, we've got Yannick, who's twice the pass rusher but bargain drafted in the third round.

I still don't see why they have him standing up instead of with his hand on the ground. 

The only reason I wouldn't want the Texans making Clowney the highest paid defensive player is that it would make it even tougher to sign Ramsey and Ngakoue.
