Who is your preference if they decide to bring in a LB who is still on the open market?

Gerald Hodges would be perfect , he's smart and good in coverage, NFL teams seem down on him though.

Also wouldn't mind Navarro Bowman but he's lost a step and probably wants a bigger role.

Heck, I liked J.T. Thomas the first time he was here. Thought he was a pretty solid LB.

I wouldn't count out VT LB Motuapuaka. The Polynesian could fight for a backup spot at MLB and SLB if he can prove good special teams ability. From VT, that's nearly a given.

There's a glaring lack of experience/veteran presence there.  Otherwise, there does appear to be young talent (albeit green.)  Brown would be my (very) early penciled in starter.

So, I don't think this has much to do with confidence.

I like Blair Brown in the starting role. For backup, Lerentee McCray is replaceable, and Leon Jacobs is just a developmental unknown at this point. Bringing in a versatile vet LB for depth makes sense.

Yup!

And I'm just betting that the memory of 2015 where the team had almost all Rookies in the WR room still looms large in Dave's mind.

We should make a trade with Oakland.

I'm thinking Ramsey, Fowler, Bortles, Fournette, and a 2nd round pick next year
for Khalil Mack, Derek Carr Amari Cooper, and a 3rd round pick

If they throw in Doug Martin I'm game.
