02, he's messing with you. The Champions League is an entirely different competition from the Premiership and the Championship (which Fulham is in at the moment). The latter two are domestic (English in this case) while the Champions League is continental.

Liverpool (English Premier League Team) and Real Madrid (Spanish La Liga team) are competing in a much greater Champions League Tournament that is like the European Championship FINAL that culminates after an extensive playoff over the course of ~ 8 months.  It's super confusing that there are multiple tournaments going on throughout the course of an English Premier League season, Spain's La Liga Season, Germany's Bundasliga Season, and the Italian Serie A Season that run from August through May as well.

What do you "about 8 moths"? That's longer than an entire season.

Assuming I'm not being goaded here: The English Premier League season starts in Late August and finishes in Early May.. thus making it 9 months. The Champions League Campaign starts in July with the Preliminary Rounds.. the final is in May.. making it 10 months. However, there aren't games every week. There are Champions League weeks in which games will be played midweek in between Premier League weekend games.

Cardiff and Wolves will play each other during next years regular Premier League season but not this weekend. They both achieved automatic promotion to the Premier League during the Championship season which has just passed, finishing 1st and 2nd in the league.

Those teams who finish 3rd-6th in the English CHAMPIONSHIP League go into the playoffs which happen over 2 games (each team will play home and away). 3rd play 6th and 4th play 5th. The winners of both games play each other in the final (at Wembley) which results in the winner filling the 3rd promotion slot to the Premier League.

All of the English Leagues have confusing schedules.. for instance, if you follow a team in Leagues 1&2 (tiers 3 and 4 on the pyramid) your team will enter into the following competitions:

Their League (and playoffs if they qualify)
The FA Cup (this is a competition for all teams in England and Wales to enter, from amateur to semi pro all the way to the EPL, if an amateur team goes through the preliminary rounds through to the 3rd proper round, they could play Manchester United/Arsenal/Manchester City etc either at home or away depending on how the draw happens.)
The League Cup (this is a competition that involves all teams in the top 4 English divisions)
The EFL Trophy (this is a competition for the teams in Leagues 1&2 plus a selection of EPL teams' academies).
